  1. That is the exact same for me. However, if you look on the right side of the screen, it should say (at least for me it does) "eligible for work-study", so it makes me think that, when the official financial package comes out in the summer, I/we may have a chance to do some work-study. I wouldn't quote me, but that is how I took it. I would write UCLA if you want a definite answer on that.
  2. I finally got a reply from Lance Fooks about this, because I wanted to know if I was even considered for the fellowship due to this timing issue. He told me that the time zone thing was not an issue for why I didn't get considered for the fellowship. So although wah for the "no fellowship" thing, yay for finally knowing that (at least for UCLA) the time zone they consider for deadlines is PST.
  3. Submitted by SOI for UCLA so I'm officially going there for my MSW! :D

  4. I checked my status online for SDSU today and officially got denied. :/ But its all good because I have UCLA (which I was leaning toward more after consideration), so all is well! I wish everyone the best and good luck!!!
  5. Ugh, yeah I don't know. I just think that those types of things ought to be explicitly stated on the website if they really do go accordingly to a specific time zone (like EST). Otherwise, people living in California or Hawaii or Texas...just yeah, their applications would be turned in "late" and that isn't really fair for them if they didn't have a reason to think otherwise (in terms of turning in the applications around midnight their time).
  6. Yay!!! Congrats! Yeah, the anxiety is REAL haha, but I'm so happy for you!
  7. Nope, they never did. :/ Have you been accepted to the program? If so, guess we'll find out when we get the official acceptance letter in the mail.
  8. Thank you thepinkdragon76, I think you raised up some good points! I kind of already considered those but just wanted a second opinion to make sure I wasn't...too optimistically getting myself overwhelmed, if that makes any sense. Yeah, I've lived in a sorority house for three years now as an undergrad and I think I know what to expect of members during the evening. If there are any other questions I should consider, please let me know! Thanks so much for the help!
  9. I am writing to inquire your thoughts on the idea of juggling a full-time house director position at a sorority house while pursuing my MSW degree. I have read on a few other threads how most people frown upon the idea of even a part-time job while getting your MSW because the program is just so time consuming that it seems virtually impossible to balance this. However, if most academic classes/field placements are during the day (I am assuming a kind of 8/9 AM - 5/6 PM type of time allotment) and the position mainly requires you to live in the house at night, do you think balancing this could be possible? I just don't want to overload myself, but I also can't imagine not having a job for basically two years...I feel like this would be a somewhat doable "multitask" job opportunity. All thoughts appreciated, with opinions from people already undergoing/undergone the MSW track is highly valued.
  10. I just received an email too about being accepted, WHOOOOOO!!!! CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ELSE AS WELL! Also, I checked that status link, just out of curiosity, and it still said "no decision has been made to date"...so although I'm accepted, I guess that didn't get updated. It may be a bogus link, I am not sure. I can't even remember how I first found it.
  11. I don't know if its the same one that ctb11 was told to use to check the status, but I've been using this one to monitor: https://appstatus.grad.ucla.edu/Account/Login.aspx
  12. Let the anxiety from waiting for acceptance/rejection letters begin! :/

  13. Yup, I got that same official email. Yay!
