  1. Hi guys! I'm recently starting on my MBA sop. I wrote about my several internship experience in different companies, and used 1-2 paragraphs talking about why I should be considered as a b-school student. Then, I realized isn't it bad to put the same content in my sop as in my curriculum vitae (or resume)?? If so, what could I write in my essay? I am feeling so confused right now! I would love to hear some suggestions. =]
  2. Thank you Elli! Your suggestion has been very helpful. Good luck on your application too!
  3. Hi guys! I'm struggling with my SoP these days, therefore I'm trying to seek some help plz... I basically wrote about some of my personal experience from 4 years ago when I entered college till now (studied sociology, anthropology, music, why do I like my major), and wrote about one of my projects related to my major (ethnomusicology). Then I wrote about which program attracts me and why I would be a good candidate for that... However, I read some good SoPs from others and found all of these SoPs are really straight-forward: why am I applying for this program? What strength do I have? What academic awards and experience do I have? Then, I began to wonder, should I change my essay to that standard type?
  4. I started it last week...still revising it every day. Good luck on your SOP writing!
  5. Personally I think SOP, cv and rec letters are much more important. GRE is like a threshold for your applications to be viewed by the committee: need to meet the minimum requirement, but of course, the higher the better
  6. Yea its a bit difficult to determine which program is good! I tried to talk to my professor. She told me a lot of schools that have relatively strong department for my potential major. It helped a lot!
