  1. I'm still in complete shock to be recommended (ETA - Czech Republic). Wept for a solid 30 minutes at work today as my coworkers threw tissues at me haha....and now - right back to waiting.
  2. wow that sounds like such a brilliant experience! I would really like to do a phd in linguistics in Sweden eventually; I totally agree that the life in "Europe" generally better suits my needs and interests (I have lived in Spain and Sweden.) Anyway that is definitely something I will look into for the future. Thank so much & best of luck to you!
  3. Hey there! It's definitely something I have looked into, and would really love to do. (Amsterdam is one of my favorite places and top choices to live, by the way!) Unfortunately, I have found that in the field of communication disorders (my field) it is hard to find programs abroad in English, because most are unique to disorders & treatment in their own language. Also, as it is in the "medical"-ish field, there are so many rules about certification, etc. So I'm worried that if I got my masters abroad, ever working in the US would be a hassle or that I may have to re-do half my education. blah! How is your program $0 though?!? That's the dream!
  4. Ah, I'm speech path/communication disorders as well! So if I don't get the Fulbright I plan on starting grad school in the fall, which I'm not overly thrilled about, and of course haven't been accepted to, yet, either. Which country did you apply to?
  5. I graduated in December too and "well, I'm hoping to get this Fulbright grant to just go off across the world and do some stuff but it's a total longshot" is my life so hard right now. Living in limbo is NO FUN.
  6. Hopefully all of this waiting and stress will bring good news to all of us. Just 30 more days... I am wondering the same thing about the similar grants question. Teach For America seems like an obvious answer, but I thought I'd say it anyway. I also looked into a program called City Year but it seemed like a ton of work with few benefits.
  7. Yes, almost, still trying to hang! and the Czech Republic.
  8. Cannot unthink Fulbright. My future wants answers. AHHHHH BECAUSE JANUARY.
  9. Quite nervous! It's hard not knowing where we will all be in one year. I'm staying busy with my last semester and with grad school applications. Trying not to stress too much, as I suppose it's out of our hands at this point
  10. Yep I got my confirmation today, too. I did email the Fulbright representative from my region though, just to double check, so that might have done the trick.
  11. Did any of you guys receive a second email after you submitted your application? I got an email immediately after submitting saying how I would receive another email confirming that the Fulbright committee had received my application. I have not received any follow-up email so I am a bit concerned. According to the Fulbright website, I have submitted everything. I'm worried because of the quickly approaching deadline and because I submitted my application the last week of September. Just thought I'd check with you all!
  12. Submitted my application last week as an ETA in the Czech Republic. Such a relief to have the application finished, but this long waiting process is already killer. Good luck, everyone!
