  1. If you scroll down to where it lists your program, ID number, etc. and click on that, it takes you to a new page with details about your grant. Scroll down and you should see "Add new document." Hope that helps!
  2. Recommended, not required! Thank goodness, because I certainly don't speak advanced Catalan... But I do speak fluent Spanish and took a few years of French and Portuguese as well, so I'm hoping it's not too hard to pick up! Fortunately, I work with a guy whose first language is Catalan, so I have a great tutor available in the meantime
  3. That was me! Thanks everyone! Fingers crossed for good news for the rest of you!!!
  4. Maybe a dumb question but does anyone know what time of day the emails are usually sent, if there's any kind of pattern there? What I really mean is, what time of day should I be frantically refreshing my email?
  5. Hey guys! The Spain info is here: http://fulbright.es/convocatorias/ver/1431/english-teaching-assistantships-comunidad-de-madrid/2015-2016 For people looking for other countries, try checking the country websites instead of the US site for something similar!
  6. Hello! I have been wondering the same thing. I'm graduating with my MATESOL in May, and people keep asking what I plan to do if I don't get the Fulbright. I'm really hoping we hear early enough to still get some job applications in if need be. For now, I'm just sort of holding out... which I hope I don't regret! I think if I don't get it, I might try to apply at one of the million language schools here, since they aren't as strictly based on a semester or academic year. The teaching certification nightmare makes me more inclined to apply for private schools as well... I do think there's usually a new flurry of teaching jobs over the summer, too, although waiting that long to figure out my plans for next year makes me very anxious!
  7. Hey everyone! First off - I got recommended for an ETA in Spain! Yay! Congrats to the rest of the recommended folks and good luck to those who didn't get it this year... don't give up! Secondly, in answer to this question. I'm finishing my M.A. in TESOL right now and while I don't know a whole lot about certificate programs personally because I didn't do one, I do know that generally the CELTA is pretty well-regarded in the TESOL world. You can read a little more about the different options here and here. I hope that was somewhat helpful! I would definitely say you should look for a program that has a good balance of theory vs. practice! A million hours in the classroom reading theory won't prepare you for the real thing, but at the same time I definitely think my teaching has improved from studying some of the theory! Good luck everyone Now we settle in for another nice long wait... Ugh.
  8. Thank you! Good luck to you as well!!! I lived in Spain for a year and it's my favorite place in the world, so I am really hoping to go back
  9. YUP. I can't think about it or I'll drive myself crazy! Fortunately (or unfortunately) working + grad school keeps me pretty busy 99.9% of the time.
  10. Update: I called and they said all my stuff was in, but that lots of people only get one email. So for those of you who haven't gotten 2, you probably don't need to worry!
  11. I still haven't gotten the second email! I'm worried... I called them to check but obviously they're probably getting a billion phone calls today so no one answered. I hope calling them isn't considered annoying and some kind of "minus 10 points for this one!" behavior... Oops.
