yes it is stressful I have made my decision and I accepted an offer so I have to decline the others,, but literally I do not dare to type the decline email I have bad thoughts and I am afraid of the I-20 paperwork, and thoughts like " what if something happened and i could not go for this university"

Hi all, I am a graduate student , my husband and me are both accepted to join the integrated biomedical sciences PhD prgram at Morsani college of medicine at USF. It is our first time to be in the states. Can anyone help me and give us some information about neighborhood and apartments? we need a family apartment with 2 bedrooms. and also i need to know more about the daycares for my 3-year old son, preferably if it is near the campus.

hello all I have applied for a phd program in several universities in US today I received an email for a skype interview with the admission committee members of one of those univ. Does anyone have some tips for such kind of interviews ? What are the most frequent questions ? What they are looking for in the interview? etc

I wonder about if it is possible to address that i took maternity leave, and the university rules in my home country don't allow starting the graduate research project during the leave I am a teaching assistant in the university

i think you should put the full name plus abbreviation between brackets for the first time then u can use the abbreviation throughout the letter for example in mine i mentioned what is called perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT),, i used the full name once,,then i used the abbreviation

hello everyone,,while surfing the internet for helpful hints on sop, I came across this forum I can see how all of you are helpful and supportive, so I was encouraged to ask for advice regarding my sop I am from Egypt, I am a teaching and research assistant in the university I am planning to apply for PhD in biomedical sciences in USA univ. First, I want to tell you something about me: I completed the masters' qualifications courses at the end of 2011, I couldn't pursue the masters for two reasons 1- I gave birth and i was compelled to take a long maternity leave because i feel that my son needed me during the leave i worked on my skills, took many online courses, attended training program to learn the techniques used in biomedical sciences and started to read many articles and paper to get acquainted with the advances in the field 2- i am working in a department which is considered fledgling, I wanted to do biomedical research which is lacking here in egypt due to funding issues and lack of resources so, during the leave i started to search abroad for a phd program in biomedical sciences my questions are: 1- should i talk about my maternity leave or it will be a negative point in my application 2- adcom will wander why I didn't do masters and shifted to phd, but i am afraid of talking about the lack of resources here and the difficulties that the egyptian researcher face,,i am afraid that they may think all what i want is to leave my country which is not true. I an waiting for your appreciated advice thanks alot sorry for this lengthy post
