  1. Thanks a lot for your advise. Well i think i should have mentioned it in the opening post that i have been admitted by i have yet to accepted the position. So they cannot kick me out. All thay can do is to rescinde my offer of admission. I don't know how damaging, if any, would that be for my future graduate career. Could they take any other action such as blacklisting me, or informing other universities.? Another option would be to reject the offer and forget about applying over there again. But this was the only university i applied to this year and i really did want to go there.
  2. I got into a master’s program but I omitted a previous incomplete stint at a graduate school. The school is unlikely to find out, but now i feel crappy. I realised it was a wrong thing to do. At the time I rationalized my decision to omission based on what I felt was ambiguous language in the application form regarding information about previous studies. Also I had my reasons to drop out from the previous program due to the absurd policies of that school. But I think I did the wrong thing by not disclosing this information to the new graduate school. Now a part of me wants to just keep quiet and peruse the program. But the other part wants me to come clean and report the omission to the graduate school. I am really confused and stressed out. What chances are there that the graduate program would still retain my study place if I report the omission?
  3. Would never have applied to a part time masters program in a low ranked university in my country immediately after my undergraduate, while also doing a full time job. Now, 4 years down the road, i am have still not been able to complete my masters, (partly due to administrative issues and lack of quality education in the university and partly due to the demands of a full time job). I still have time but now i am lost all motivation to continue in this university. I want to apply to a better masters program abroad, but my profile looks quite bad with a incomplete masters( with bad grades). I had reasonably good GPA in undergraduate (3.5/4), and had i waited and applied to a better university i could easily have gotten admission. Now i am stuck with this crappy MSc.
  4. Hey guys, I am new here. I was looking for some advice as to how to explain an incomplete master when applying to another graduate program. I took admission in part time masters after I graduated while also doing a full time job. But I soon found it very difficult to manage full time job with my studies mainly due to the fact that university changed the part time masters into full time after one year of my enrollment. This meant that the classes were now held in the morning, making it almost impossible for me to pursue my masters while being employed full time. I did complete 4 courses (out of 8 plus a thesis), but with poor grades. Off course i could have resigned from my job and concentrate fully on studies, but I choose not to and almost dropped out. Now that I have worked in the industry for some time (gaining valuable experience and saving some money), I am contemplating to pursue my masters from a better university abroad. Will the incomplete masters hurt my chances of getting into the new graduate program? Will the above be a good enough explanation for not being able to complete the masters? One option is to leave out the whole thing from my application. But I am afraid that would be dishonest of me and could potentially be disastrous if the university finds out about the omitted transcripts.
