  1. Congrats to everyone who got in I am wondering..so the Master's list is out, and apparently the potential PhD applicants have been invited for interview weekend. What about PhD applicants who haven't heard anything? Is that a bad sign?
  2. Ok I am really nervous now! I applied to the ICE PhD program. Didn't contact any POIs. Have got a positive response from one other University but Stanford is like my dream school. And I see for Science Education they have already started sending out acceptances/interview calls.
  3. Hello. Thank you for starting this forum. I'd be interested to know if there are any international students applying? GRE Score: V 162, Q 158, AWA 4.0 Work Experience: 5 years work experience; 1 year in an NGO providing primary education to deserving youth in a developing country; 4 years as part of a team that established a liberal arts university in South Asia. Research Experience: Not much (at least not academic research; professional and/or consumer research, plenty) Applying for PhD or Master’s: Ph.D Program: International Education Policy What Other Schools Are You Applying To: Stanford, Oxford
  4. Two of my reference letters are from the same place of employment. I have been working in the same place for more than 4 years. My undergrad was 8 years before so it didn't make sense for me to ask a professor from undergrad to write the reference letter for me. I do have one academic reference from a professor in my grad school, who was my research/project advisor as well (this was 4.5 years back so it is still within the 5 year time frame). I deliberated over this decision but in the end decided to go with letters from the same place of employment. I sincerely hope its no big deal!
  5. Hi. This is a very cool forum! I am vacillating between IEP and HE program. Ideally would like to study a combination of both (international higher education policy). However, hoping today's virtual sessions will help me decide. @rhfer: The application process seems to be very holistic and GRE is one of the many factors. Take a practice exam, evaluate your verbal/quantitative strengths and based on that prepare a study plan. Khan Academy and Magoosh helped me a lot esp. for quick Math prep, so you might consider checking them out. Good luck!
