I'm a student at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. 4.0/4.3 gpa (3.88 out of 4) and was wondering about how business degrees are seen by admissions officers at American MPP programs.
My degree contains a fair bit of quantitative material (calc, stats, lin alg) all applied to business and economics. Also introductory statistics. I focused more on marketing, labour and HR in my degree, and did a fair bit of finance as well. That said, as a BCOM student I have no "major" or specialization. I just get a BCOM, and can pick courses. In my out of faculty electives I did a a few introductory politics courses, but it was difficult to do upper year ones since business degrees have little emphasis on academic writing.
Thanks.
