  1. Thank you Applemiu. Do you have any advice on programs in Texas? Does anyone have any opinions on any programs in the state of Texas?
  2. Hello all, I would appreciate any help with advice for moving forward. Undergrad: top 40 program (state university) B.A. in Mathematical Science - Statistics Emphasis, Minor - Spanish 3.79 cumulative GPA (so far) 3.88 major/minor (most recent two years GPA is 3.91) will be an Honors graduate Will graduate next semester so I still have some time left for GPA improvement/downward slide. Coursework: Cal I (made 5 on AP test, was advised to take the course anyway): A- (2007) Cal II: A+ Cal III: A+ Intro to Stats: B (2007) Adv Cal: A Linear Alg: A+ Math Stats I: A Math Stats II: spring 2015 Real Analysis: A Abstract Algebra: A Statistical Methods: A History of Math: A+ Operations Research Methods: spring 2015 Intro to Topology: A- GRE: 165Q/154V Research: none to speak of, I have a blog about sports analytics that I work on, but I don't know if that qualifies Rec Letters: All three are professors from my program (program chair, adv cal, linear alg) - they really like me and have encouraged me to pursue a PhD (wasn't even in my realm of ideas until about a month ago honestly) Considering Applying to: Anywhere. I am hoping to be able to attend in Texas, specifically Dallas area - though no great programs there (not a true concern for me). Back story - I started college years ago as a philosophy/architecture double major playing soccer. Got injured, switched to ministry (yep, I know...), then stopped playing soccer, and then my sister died so I dropped out of school altogether. Spend several years away from school. About two years ago I got back into school at a later age than most undergrads (26) and changed my major to math and minor in Spanish. So I am not a traditional student at all, the two grades listed with 2007 are when I took those classes. All others have been taken in the last 18-24 months. I am also married and my wife has a great career in Dallas, so I would like to not have to move, if possible. Currently I am a college soccer coach (assistant) at a university and attend school at another university (would never attend the school I work for - personal preference for quality math education). Thanks for your advice and I appreciate your time (also sorry about the book for a post)! edited to add missing information
