  1. Hey all! Just thought I'd get your opinion on this one... So I've just been accepted to University of Washington's EdS program. I also have an upcoming interview at Lewis and Clark College in Portland. Both schools are NASP approved. UW's program is ranked highly, but it is incredibly expensive. As in, $40,000 more expensive than L&C over the course of the 3 year program (if I'm reading things correctly, which I think I am). Do you think there is some benefit to going to a higher ranked school psychology program? Or is it that once a school is NASP approved, they are pretty equal? Why would one choose an NASP approved program over another if it is so much more expensive? I really felt like I fit well when I talked to the professor at UW, and the jury is still out on L&C but I've got a good feeling. I just want to make the smartest decision. Thanks for any opinion you are willing to share and best of luck to all of you on your own journeys
  2. Hey all - So I got offered an interview to the Univ. of Colorado Denver PsyD program, but come to find out I don't think it is APA accredited after all. I feel like an idiot because when I applied, I read the fine print incorrectly. It says the program is based on the APA and NASP models. Then later goes on to say the program plans to pursue NASP and APA accreditation at the earliest possible date. I emailed the school to get some more details on this, but does anybody have any insight? Is it completely not worth going to a non-APA accredited school? My gut instinct says yes, but is it possible the school will get accredited soon (within the three years I'm there) and I could potentially graduate from an accredited program? Le sigh. Can't believe I missed that huge red flag. Thanks for any info or advice you can share.
  3. Hey everybody! Thanks for all the great information. I've applied to 4 EdS programs and one PsyD program for Fall 2015. Problem is, I live in Istanbul and there is no way I'll be able to leave my current teaching job to fly back for interviews (if I get invited - fingers crossed!) I know interviews are very important, and I'm a little worried it will ruin my chances of admission if I can't physically be back in the States. Any ideas on this? Does anyone know if some programs are willing to do Skype interviews/phone interviews instead of in person interviews? Thanks a lot!
