  3. Although I have confirmed Duke, I'd like to hear if it is a good choice.
  4. Environment Management program. Looking for other people! Any indians?
  5. 2ndAC could you kindly elaborate on what are the fortes of each of these Big Four programs? applyingF15, can you tell us more about why UCSB has an advantage? And others aspects? I have a acceptance from UCSB and a conditional acceptance from Duke. Energy and Environment is what I want to concentrate in.
  6. Conditional acceptance from Duke. "The conditions of your admission are that you have not fulfilled two or more prerequisites for your chosen concentration" I can enrol only if I have one missing prerequisite. Said prerequisites are: Calculus Statistics Microeconomics Going to contest Calculus because did a lot of it during college. However, not done much regarding the other two. How does one go about filling these gaps. I don't want to lose out on this
  7. Congrats JJ123 and CantHardlyWait and all the very best to everyone! ellen_ai : I too have received a request for the interview. Does anyone have any idea as to what to expect?
  8. Hello everyone, I was wondering if you guys could point me to programs that could be suitable to my interests and my profile. I have a degree in computer engineering from mumbai university. I have a very poor gpa (2.68/4 I had my eyes on another degree but couldn't pursue that. never mind) GRE: 324 TOEFL: 114 AWA: 3.5 (not a native speaker but was definitely hoping for better) I have a years worth of work experience in a sustainability consultancy as a sustainability analyst. I have been wanting to pursue education in a field that will help me create a more sustainable world. Mostly helping proliferate cleantech and such. I have applied to a couple of programmes and rather blindly without considering what I could get with my profile. Now however I am also considering applying to a couple of Masters in international Affairs programs. My benchmark for an ideal programme is the one at SIPA with its concentration in energy and environment. I was wondering if I should even bother applying to this programme. Also wanted to know about other programmes that have a similar kind of education and future prospects. Open to public policy and public affairs as well. Maybe you guys have come across some of this kind. Help!

P.S: Sorry if this is not the appropriate thread.
  10. Does MPA mean Masters in Public Administration or Public Affairs? Also I really liked the masters in international affairs programme at SIPA. Mostly I liked that they have a concentration in energy and environment. Any more like this?
  11. Thanks for your answers! I have considered Europe but later dropped the idea because I was worried about the job situation there. Am I right or wrong? I have been considering US programmes. Any opinion on an MPA/MPP or International Development/Affair route to achieve my goal?
  12. What if a friend were to ask you, "What masters education do I need to get if I want help create a more sustainable world? Help proliferate renewable energy and cleantech in general? Any path that will directly affect this outcome." After painstaking research over the past a 8 months or so I have started applying to the following colleges: 1. UCSB- Master of Environmental Science and Management 2. Duke- Master of Environmental Management 3. Yale- Master of Environmental Management 4. Columbia- MS in Sustainability Management 5. IIT- MS Environmental Management and Sustainability 6. The New School - Environmental Policy and Sustainability MS 7. University of Michigan - MS in Sustainable System. But I am still unconvinced that these colleges, apart from a few are exactly what I am looking for. I am also considering some Policy masters(MPA/MPP) Can someone please be a big bro and help out? (sorry about the font. Forum noob and in a little hurry)
