Thank you for your reply. These were some of the criteria that I used to narrow down to three schools. I met with multiple PIs of my interest in all three schools and they are accepting students for the upcoming year. The funding in each of the schools is quite good for the city/town they are in. The programs are very similar to each other and based on my visit, I found the places very compatible for me as a prospective grad student. And I do not want to decide on the school, based on US News rankings.

Hey everyone, I am not a regular participant of this forum but I just want to say that it has helped me a lot, from the application days to the interviews. There was a time this year when I was so frustrated when I had not gotten any interview calls and everyone was regularly posting something on Gradcafe results. This forum helped me stay positive throughout the process. Thanks to y'all for your regular support and motivation. Now, I am in the process of choosing the school I want to attend and it is indeed a very difficult decision. I have narrowed it down to 3 schools based on the PIs of my interest and my visits to these schools. But how do I decide between the three? What was the main criteria that y'all used to finalize your acceptance to one school?

Congrats on both the interviews! Since you have a valid reason, I don't think a Skype interview will hurt your chances. However you won't be able to gain a perspective of the program without actually visiting their campus and meeting current students. Btw, when did you get both of these invites?

I am in college and I'd gladly move to the D.C area but technically I am not a US Citizen, so I believe that most of the NIH opportunities are restricted to citizens. Thanks for your help though.

Did you apply for a specific concentration for Miami PIBS? And by Sackler, are you talking about NYU or Tufts?

Hey y'all, I have been following this forum for quite a while now but this is my first post. I have applied to several graduate programs in genetics and molecular biology but haven't heard beck from any as of today. I am getting very nervous now and am wondering if I should look for backup options if I don't get into any of the programs. Has anyone heard back from Miami PIBS, Tufts- Sackler, UGA or UF? And does anyone know if UCSF-BMS and UT Southwestern DBS are done sending out all of their interview invites? I'd be glad to hear some motivating thoughts from y'all.
