  1. Are there any good resources to learn more about the climate and reputation of specific departments (e.g. faculty aren't interesting in advising students, students take longer than usual to finish, etc.)? I know there's the Gourmet Report, department websites, and placement records/analyses of placement records, but they don't cover climate or reputation. I plan on visiting the schools I'm considering, but I'd hope there might be a more objective place to find out about the schools. There's also the the "" thread, but unfortunately the schools I'm considering aren't covered much there, so it's not much help. Sorry if this question has been asked before elsewhere.
  2. On a related note: Berkeley sent out acceptances and wait lists at the beginning of February and finally sent out rejections a couple of days ago. The problem is that I still haven't heard anything from them. I doubt I'm on some internal wait list, as it's been a month since they sent out initial wait lists. Should I just assume that they're taking their time/not prioritizing sending out the last rejections or might there be some other cause?
  3. Yea, I'm in the same boat and assumed that I'm on something like a wait list. My only question would be how long it would be safe to guess this could last (hearing no word but possibly on a wait list)? Would it be out of the question to not hear anything until mid or late march?
  4. This is my first post. Long time reader of the forum. I just got news that I was admitted into Chicago. It's the first school I've heard back from directly, so I'm incredibly excited and relieved. I really just want to say thanks to everyone who posts here. Your comments really helped me through the application process. And good luck to everyone in the rest of the process.
