So I want to study dance in a cultural context as well as actually dance. My reserach topic would be something along the lines of how dance brings communities together/ how it spreads from one community to another (across cultures and countries). I'm a trained ballroom dancer and my bachelors is in Anthropology. The best program I've found for that so far is UCLA's World Arts and Culture Masters/PHD. Does anyone have any expereince/knowledge about this program? Also if anyone knows of other cultural dance masters programs (anthropology/sociology/dance) I'd love to hear about them! They also have a Masters of dance but I'm not sure I have the training for something like that. Any advice??

I'm looking into the Dance MFA program at Washington University in St. Louis. Does anyone else have any experience with it? I'm looking to visit in July and apply for Fall of 2016.

Let me know how you like Alliant. I am also looking into applying there but have been unsure of the legitimacy of the program. I would be very interested to know how you like it, where some of thier graduates are getting jobs and that sort of thing!

I'm curious what made you all choose the programs you did. I am looking into MFT masters now and hoping to apply for Fall of 2016.

I recieved an undergraduate degree in Anthropology but am looking into Masters programs for Marriage and Family Counseling. I know it may seem like a bit of a jump, but I really think I will love MFT. I am having a hard time deciphering what is and is not a good program and if the cost is worth it. I'm in TN but am very willing to move to another state for a "Top" school or credible program. A few I have liked so far are: Northwestern- Masters in MFT Allian University- Masters in International Counseling Antioch University- Masters MFT and Dance Therapy University of Southern California- Masters MFT Any advice, tips, or questions I should be asking? Any help would be appreciated!! Side question: Has anyone heard of the International Counseling program at Alliant University? It sounds amazing but I am wonderig about its credability.
