  1. yup - thats the only admit i have. what abt you ? where r you headed??
  2. Kavya, your profile looks good. (The awa may have hurt your chances in some places but then you have authored a book!!!) What schools did you apply to ?? Also, where did you go to for your undergrad? All the best for the future.
  3. I hope most people have decided on their final destination by now. Who all are heading to Columbia for MSOR ? It'll be great if you can share a little about yourself here. Let me start off: International Student from India. Undergrad in Chemical Engineering from Top 10 Engineering College in India. (2008) Working for the past two years with a global consultancy company. GPA: 7.93 (on scale of 10) GRE: 1430 (800, 630, 4.5) Interests: Sports, music, books, movies. \ Hope to hear from more of you. Cheers!
  4. All the best 18apples. I know you've been on the waitlist for a long time. I know atleast one person who's not taking up his Cornell admit. Did you hear anything from Columbia since ?
  5. Columbia told you that you are on the waitlist ??
  6. I was finally asked to call them for a little chat. Told them exactly as wifey99999999 had advised. Let's see what happens.
  7. I would agree - just that I haven't been asked to call them for the interview.
  8. Not quite sure if this approach is the best thing to do. For all I know, this wouldn't even be effective. Many people might not tell that they have other admits. Many would say that they would go to Columbia if admitted and still might not go. I'm not sure how a school which takes more than 3 months to process applications and start giving out results and one which has extended its applications deadline by 2 months (even though they apparently want to cut down on the intake) can expect students' to decide on their final destination when asked over a phone call. [clearly, I'm not a big fan of the way they're doing things this season - also, pretty clearly, I haven't heard from them yet ]
  9. I haven't got my Cornell ORIE decision. I mailed and asked them - looks like there is no news on my application yet. Just to add a poll to the above - has any MSOR applicant for Columbia heard back from them ? (apart from the ones who got deferred from FE - its pretty sad that FE applicants get their results for OR way before the real OR applicants - gives the impression that FE applicants are valued more than the OR applicants)
  10. I've been hoping for a result "this week or the next" for the last 4 weeks now. Don't know whats going on. And this after all my apps with recos were submitted by the Dec end.
  11. Daniela, I think we should start a club of sorts. In one of the programs i have applied to, ppl have gotten results/admits a month back also. I mailed them yesterday and they said that a decision wasn't reached on my application yet. I'm running out of patience and am thinking of putting planB into action soon.
  12. hmmm...so i guess im on the waitlist. i thought all these ppl who said they were on the waitlist were told so. i wasnt told anything of this sort - after sending in my application by early december i was told in early march that they had not received my TOEFL scores.
  13. I still haven't heard from Cornell about my app - no waitlist, no reject - what do you think is happening ? I also haven't heard about too many Cornell admits - just a handful or so. I'm sure a majority of their results/admits are still not out.
  14. @ above Profile : Top 10 Engineering College in India. - Major - Chemical Engineering. GPA : above 8.5 i think with a good rank in class. Work Ex of just under 2 yrs by time he would join. Dont know if he had anything special in his application.
