Hello I actually work directly with the office of admissions selection team at a university in colorado that has both on campus and online MS in Criminology. I can tell you that in most cases it depends on your background when it comes to your commitment to pursuing it. To determine this they will look at both , your academic history as well as your professional history. They just want to make sure you are serious about pursuing this and not going to just cut it off half way through.
