    well Penn just pulled the band-aid off for the rest of us. I thought I was ok with it, having known for about a week I won't be getting in, but damn, the finality the Official Rejection Letter just opens the wound. Congrats to the acceptees and good luck to the waitlisted, though!

    Hey prangar 2. No, my prediction is based only on the results board and the fact that acceptances were communicated several days ago. Just a guess!

    Hi lenz. Saw your question--currently I'm not leaning towards any program at all, as they all have come out equally after reputation/money/faculty/etc. come into play. Being on a waitlist is a great place especially in the top 20. Those who get into NYU also probably get into other programs, so given basic statistics, you have a high chance of turning into an acceptance!

    I'm waitlisted and invited to Open House next weekend. No word on how many waitlisted but the email said it was "short".

    3 Harvard acceptances now posted. Any takers? Apparently 2 of these were dispatched today via email. Congrats to the acceptees and condolences to the rest of us.

    Hi, thank you for the friend request, but I usually expect to get to know someone a bit before accepting those...I've removed you for the present, but would be more than happy to establish a conversation with an eye towards reversing that if it turns out we are, indeed, friendly. :o)

    Hey lyoness, Congrats on your two offers. I'd say exactly what you said here: that you very much appreciate the offer, but have received another from a program with a better fit and don't want to hold the spot of another deserving candidate on the waitlist. They will appreciate your honesty and no department will fault you for choosing a program with a better fit than theirs.
