  1. I am in more or less the same boat. Still waiting to hear from the vast majority of schools.
  2. catilina, I believe it. I offer it has less to do with your writing skills and more to do with the fact that there are dozens (hundreds?) of questions in the verbal section and only (If I recall correctly) 1 or 2 essays in the writing section for which there are only two graders each. A relatively subjective grading process that aims to measure something more-or-less intangible based on fewer data points or less information is necessarily going to be subject to greater variability in scoring. I know that the ETS graders follow a certain rubric, but the process of evaluating an individual's persuasive essay is invariably going to be subjective process. Blame the circumstances of testing and the process, not yourself.
  3. glj, Thanks for the good louck wishes. Yes I applied to Rutgers-New Brunswick. I was looking around (again) on their site yesterday when I stumbled upon a note saying that priority is given to those who apply before December 15th...I was upset because I applied December 29th.. As a result I am kicking myself for not being more vigilient in the first place. Anyway, I haven't heard from Rutgers yet; as my screename implies it is my first choice, one I believed was realistic too. Anyway, thanks for the update, I will let you all know what I hear from where. -Jordan
  4. I too was rejected from UPenn... glj, how did Rutgers notify you? Is the "open house" truly "open" or does one need an invite? I am anxiously awaiting word (especially from Rutgers) thanks, Jordan
