  1. I wish we could all have a commiserating beer together. I don't suppose any of you are in Wisconsin?
  2. Agreed. I've been haunting this board forever. I've also had dreams about it and rehearsed my possible reactions. It is time.
  3. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us in the weeks to come.
  4. I know! It's maddening. On a more productive note, what are your alternatives? I'm looking into TA positions for next year and seeking out other drinking water-related fellowships/grants.

AnthroDork, I just got accepted, too. I'm not positive that I'm going, but it is one of my top 2-3 choices, and the location is a major plus (over the cold midwest, where my boyfriend will have a hard time finding something to do). Anyway, I hope this doesn't sound creepy, but we should totally get together if we both go -- it sounds like we have some interests in common (dorks unite!). Congrats!
  6. Write to the grad coordinator and ask! S/he should be willing to tell you.
  7. Just got an email from Edinburgh telling me I had an interview, and the POI says she's heard "positive rumours" about the fellowship application. Eeep!
  8. I saw a lot of people are planning on getting tats to celebrate acceptances. What are you going to get? Is it related to your work? Have you seen Carl Zimmer's science tattoo book? I'm applying to infectious disease programs. If I get in, I'm thinking of getting the plague doctor from this engraving:
  9. I've applied to Edinburgh (PhD in ecology). Still waiting....
