  1. I got it. I'd assumed that if I didn't get Boren, I wasn't getting Gilman, but was pleasantly surprised.
  2. I ended up getting Gilman, so anyone going to Jordan should come say hi.
  3. Well Monday is over and no rejection letter yet. Because I'm not expecting it, I once every couple of days remember I'm waiting for it. I just looked to see if anyone heard anything, and I guess we're hearing this week? Ya...that's going to be a fun email.
  4. I'd be ok with taking my rejection letter now, thanks. I've gotten a couple scholarships, so financially I can make it work. I just am kind of tired of waiting for a likely rejection letter. They already know for sure those who are NOT getting them. Why not put us out of our misery??
  5. So when you go there, you can see a place where you can click on your application and then change stuff? Because this means that since there's no update button for me, I'm not likely to be seeing a letter, if they are, in fact still sending more. I can log into my account, but it just has it greyed out.
  6. Nothing like a little bit of torture, eh? So, has anyone gotten anything else? I would expect if "some" had gone out, that more would be out by now. I've accepted that I may never see this budget update. I have other things in the hopper...I'm going one way or the other.
  7. You mean not true? Because she said that they are all out. Also... she said if you did not get an email you are unlikely to get a scholarship.
  8. So i have a few bits of information. First, i got an email that said i didn't complete the application process. This is a mistake and there's people all over the country freaking out. The woman also told me all who were going to get an email have got it. I haven't. I've only seen one scholarship app that has received the letter...but i might have missed some...so how many scholarship emails are there out there?
  9. I'm too much of an A personality for relaxation to be any part of my vocabulary. I can not see myself relaxing until about July when all scholarships I applied for are awarded. I wasn't even for sure going to have third year paid for this summer, but got that worked out as well. Been working way too hard for too long to be able to relax. Even with the Boren Scholarship, I would be a little short, but just got a scholarship at my home institution that will cover the difference through the Honor Society. If I don't get the Boren, I'll just have to count on the universe figuring out a way to take care of me!
  10. So checking in...no one has got their March email yet, have they?
  11. I am doing the CIEE program, and am NOT at this point anyway bringing my family with me. My oldest son is autistic, he's finally doing a little better. Change is hard anyway, and there isn't the same choices for a special needs kid. In addition, I two other children, and a husband with a career. We own our house, and with the unrest...we just wanted me to look and see before we brought everyone out, if we did at all. My program initially was not really flexible about bringing my family but eventually, they changed their mind. I'm doing the intensive language program, and so I'm going to be really stressed about time too. As much as I will miss my little distractions, it's not that long of a time, and then I'm done, I'll have graduated, and can move on with my life. Because I am married, they recently told me the family stay is out...I also have to get an apartment. This should be interesting.
  12. collegemom82 I just saw that you were going to Amman Jordan too...what program are you going with. Wouldn't it be so cool if we ended up knowing someone from here and then spending a year with them? How are you doing your housing? Aren't you SO EXCITED!!!
  13. collegemom82 - I just saw your message...I'm trying to not think about the Boren thing as I'm already super nervous so I've stayed away from this forum unless I thought there'd be something to see new that would not give me an ulcer. So, in answer to your question, I am hoping to study Arabic in Jordan. I'm going if I get the funding or not, but it'll be so much harder. I've already bought my ticket and am accepted into my program. We have plans in place to have my husband and children be ok while I'm gone for the year. I am so excited, though, regardless of how this scholarship plays out. I have been working towards this trip for two years. What are you studying? And has anyone got their email about more financial information yet? I saw part of that about threw up because I hadn't seen anything.
  14. I really have to second this thanks to Riverguide. I feel like I had a little bit of direction here that otherwise would have been flying completely blind. I hope a year from now I'm able to be as helpful to future applicants because I made it too!
  15. I just submitted my application, and have to get my other supplementary materials in by Friday. Can I just say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
