  1. Nothing about Michingan. What about NYU? These are the two remaining in my list. I saw two guys posting NYU acceptance in the results section, but I didn't get my answer. I guess this is a bad sign, right?
  2. Hi Mukta, I will accept SUNY's offer for the PhD in Public Administration. I am from Brazil and don't know much about universities and rankings in USA but all I can see in the website and the opinion from faculty in best Brazilian universities is that it is a good option. Also I believe that SUNY can be a very good option if your plans are not to become a professor. Because it in Albany, it looks like that a lot of graduates get involved in NY State public administration. Personally, I liked a lot what I saw in their research center's websites. Good luck in your decision, but I hope to see you soon!
  3. Hey guys! Did you received any answers? Where is everybody? My news: now I have funding to SUNY! Still waiting for Princeton, NYU and Michigan, but I believe that Albany will really be my next city. Cheers!
  4. Ok, let me explain: I don't want and cannot pay for a PhD, but I was told by the university that I am in a "short wainting list" for funding. Besides that, my girl will also go to USA for a PhD, so it is time for me to take some decisions. So, I guess it is not that easy to say yes or no. In general I would just go with funding, but I have to consider other things right now.
  5. gatorsoc85, I have no funding and I am not american. I was accepted to a Public Administration PhD and I really want to go, but I will have to quit my job and will have a lot of expenses. I am trying to discover what are the real chances of getting funding during the PhD. I was told that it is very common to do this. Anyone disagree?
  6. Hi BendRnBender! It was a mass email sent by Tamra A Delcostello and signed by the PhD Program Diretor, David Popp. It was a nice email, actually. He says that it was more than 100 applications for 6 offers.
  7. Thank you, Public Policy PhD. You can be sure that I am taking my share of the Brahmas. But I am also hoping to hear more good news for me and for you.
  8. Great news: I received unofficial email informing admission at SUNY Albany! The official email should come today or tomorrow. My carnival is safe!!! Is Albany that bad to live? What about SUNY? Everything I know came from websites. Good luck guys! Let me know your results.
  9. Thanks for the support, BendRnBender. Actually my I think my only chances are at SUNY-Albany and Syracuse. I think both will give their answer until the end of February, but I really would love to know something faster. SUNY-Albany gave the answers in 2011 in February 9, as far as I could see in the results search. Good weekend for you!
  10. Hey guys, check your status at Duke. Someone posted "waiting list". My application appears as "submitted"....
  11. Very nice post, Public Policy PhD! I hope that, if not accepted in the same universities, we can meet for a beer in a congress or something. No interviews so far. And if an interview doesn´t mean "just a formality before accept you", I prefer this way. I actually also applied for Government at Cornell and Political Science at UCSD, because of specific professors who interest me. PS: My girl is killing me! Today she was accepted for French and italian studies at Stanford!
  12. Oh my God, I am not alone! Guys, I applied in Public Policy for Duke, SUNY Albany and UMich and in Public Administration for Syracuse and NYU. No answers so far. And my girl was already accepted at berkeley (other area). And I am from brazil and should be enjoying the summer instead of looking my e-mail. And I already started a PhD in here and should be studying instead of checking my e-mail. Good luck for you, guys!
