For Chicago applicants, I called the Department and the lady said the results would be out by the 1st week of March! Much later than expected Btw I'm facing this weird problem of having to reset my password for Gradcafe every time I try to sign in (the existing password will never work). Does anyone know how to solve it?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone is going to the recruitment events at UNC-Chapel Hill? And they require each admit to submit a list of up to 6 profs (s)he would like to meet (in the order of preference).. any idea on how many would be an appropriate number? I'd love to meet a few, but don't want to be doing it too much.. Thanks in advance for your comments! I wish the best of luck for all of us waiting to hear from other schools here!!

Thanks a lot for your advice LynneP! I've taken a couple of policy courses and my thesis is somewhat social work-y, and your advice was encouraging for me to try more things that's related to social work. Wish you all the best for your PhD work.

Hello all, I'm a student doing a master's program in another social sciences discipline, but would I like to apply for a PhD program in Social Work. I've done looked into in this website and some Social Work departments, but was not able to find info giving me a realistic view about the my chances.. and about what I can do to make things work out better.
