  1. AH, I was waitlisted this morning for CMH. I'm not too upset about it considering I'm pleased to have gotten into the other schools I applied to. I'm just upset that now I have to anticipate and start planning where I'm going to live for two completely different cities. I'm just glad, for the most part, that the wait is KIND OF over. haha. i can rest a little easier now. good luck to everyone else waiting
  2. i'm sorry to hear about your rejection If you do decide to move out to California there are a lot of jobs out here with good pay as behavioral therapists for children with autism. That's what I currently do. The only thing is that it requires a lot of travel so you'd have to have a car and I dont know if you plan on driving on over. most companies offer benefits and health insurance to their full time employees, it took me about 2 months to get to that point. I'm in the LA area though, if you were to move to the Bay area, i'm not sure what the prospects are like.
  3. Aw you noticed!!!! Yeah, I had to cross USC off (which i'm really mad about because i paid the deposit thinking i wasn't going to get into other schools!!!) When it came down to it, I had to realistically think about the cost of tuition. 40,000 for tuition with no scholarship, talk about making my heart frown. Also, after speaking to some current students I decided that UCLA would be a better choice for me than USC because the cohort is much smaller. As an undergrad I felt intimidated and overshadowed by huge class sizes and to some degree I felt that it hindered me from getting to know my professors better and ultimately finding a mentor within my university. I would get a little off topic tl;dr -- USC's tuition was a bit steep and class size too big for me
  4. I haven't seen much input on this forum on what you guys think about NYU. I've noticed that quite a few of us have applied there but there hasn't been much discussion. I applied to NYU on a whim without being able to do any research on the program itself. Can anyone give me any input on the school, city, program?
  5. I got 10,500 from NYU. I believe tuition for 2-year is about 35,000. i haven't decided what i want to do yet. Still waiting on berkeley but at this point it's between NYU and UCLA.
  6. thanks for the spreadsheet you guys it was informative and stressed me out. haha from what it seems, a lot of admits who heard already are Cal alumni... don't know if that means anything to anyone but that kind of calmed my nerves. I know schools like to give their alumni and family members priority and with respect for Cal alumni, I'll wait my turn to hear back from them... even if it means i go bald this weekend. congrats everyone that got waitlisted as well. Don't lose hope and at least you heard back!!
  7. I applied on 12/5/11 I have been getting emails sent to my personal account. My application status still says submitted so checking the website isnt helpful. During the application process there was communication between lance fooks and i, it was confirmation that they had recieved some document although i cant recall which it was and after i had been admitted hes been very quick to answer additional questions. Maybe you can email him instead of the general ssw email. I know you all should hear back before april but i dont know which week in march specifically. And congrats on northridge!
  8. congrats to all of you getting into Cal! That's amazing!!! my question is.. did any of you apply as an msw/ph.d applicant? or did you apply only as an msw?
  9. i agree. if you came across this way in your application i could see it being a huge turn off. you seem to have a sense of entitlement... everyone goes through hardships and i do commend you for overcoming yours but that does not give you the right to belittle the hardships everyone else has worked to surpass and get to where they are in the application process. your lack of empathy, understanding and compassion to your peers on this forum is an indicator of how your attitude is towards other's in general. trust me, your future clients could care less about your GPA and your future clients are what really matters.
  10. I got money from nyu. Gpa: 3.4 overall 3.6 last 60units from UCI Double major BA in Cognitive Psych and Public Health Research Exp 2 years as a behavioral therapist for kids with pervasive development disorders such as autism and downs syndrome I felt my only strong point in my application was my work experience
  11. It was stated in my decisions letter towards the bottom. So once you log in to your application, scroll to to the bottom, view decision, and scroll to the bottom. I dont know if it makes a difference that im from california and not ny
  12. Nyu finally got back to me today in case anyone else was waiting on them. Theyll email you to log in and checkyour application. They also include financial info. I got a 10500 scholarship.
  13. well, my anxiety levels just went back up! haha thank you for the information!
  14. pending on Berkeley's decision, I'm going to UCLA. It's nice to know that come this fall, I'll definitely be registered in an MSW program! It's such a relief to be able to put this application process to an end and congrats to everyone on your final decisions.
  15. haha!! I hope it's sometime this week, my phone's battery dies by midday because i refresh my emails so often.
