  1. So, I was kinda proud of myself for sucking it up and making a decision before the 15th... but as soon as mailed off my acceptance (CA to VT)... I started panicking... I don't think the letter will get there till Monday. I emailed admissions and my POI that my decision was made (before the deadline) and that I had accepted and that the official acceptance is en route, but I'm worried... what if that isn't enough!? Does anyone have an advice?
  2. I'm calling it off. I waited this long because Oregon had been forthright about their inability to let everyone know until pushing the 15th... but this is as close as I feel comfortable cutting it. I have an excellent offer waiting for my commitment, and it'd be a shame to pass it up waiting for word from a program that won't be able to touch their funding (even if UVM is across the country and less convenient in that way).
  3. Has everyone heard back now? I have a fully funded offer from another school I'm sitting on... I had wanted to wait until I heard from Oregon but 1) funding is guaranteed to not be as good even if I got in 2) with the acceptances going up on the result board, I'm starting to think perhaps I've been implicitly rejected and they're never going to email me lol.
  4. There's still one I'm waiting to hear back from too. I really shouldn't be holding out though. I got into a program with excellent funding whereas the one on which I am waiting at best would only fund my second year. Still... I can't move on!
  5. Thought you all would appreciate this anecdote... I got a call today from a 503 area code. I've been getting a ridiculous string of telemarketing phone calls lately so I thought before answering it, I thought to look up the area code. Well, I missed the call... when I finally read that 503 is an Oregon number. Frantically, I check my voicemail and sift through the bazillion telemarketing messages left on my phone thinking I missed a call from UofO... I finally get to it and I'm super anxious by this point... and it's another damn telemarketer.
  6. While I think my decision has been made for me... I have one school left to hear back from at all and they virtually guaranteed not to get back to me until right around April 15th. I don't know that there's much money to be had in this offer of admission relative to the program to which I am currently inclined... and if there isn't funding, I probably won't accept... but this remaining school has the potential to be a game changer. My significant other and I have been trying to coordinate schools and while we had originally planned to switch coasts, he recently got off the waitlist at UC Davis which is a significantly cheaper and no less quality program. While I got into plenty of state school's here in CA... I'm not sure there is funding for me. The most economically viable option right now would put the entire mainland US between us, but if somehow I managed to get funding at my top choice... While we'd still have a rather significant distance between us... We could at least be in the same time zone. A girl can dream lol.
  7. I emailed Dr. Bovilsky today and actually got back a really thoughtful email. What I found out wasn't necessarily conclusive, but might be helpful to some (especially my fellow MA applicants). They've taken so long because they've received a record number of Ph.D applicants this year and are currently halfway through reviewing MA applications. Rejections can be expected early next week for MA applicants, but others will have to wait till rather close to the April 15th deadline. Though the wait is going to be tough... I'm just glad to know the "Denial" I read on the website was premature.
  8. MA's should hear back very soon! I just got an acceptance email today!
  9. Don't give up yet! I know that many of the schools my SO applied to for med school have been sending out waitlists before acceptances or rejections. I don't know what the logic behind that might be, but it isn't unheard of.
