  1. Congrats Bideshi- happy to hear some news from South and Central Asia!
  2. I actually emailed Fulbright about the orientation (I haven't heard any news, but I did get a save the date email), because it conflicts with a summer scholarship for me (I will be out of the country). They said selected candidates can petition for an exemption, but it was very vague. So, maybe? I'm not sure what qualifies though.
  3. Awww catsushi, keep you head up. Something will happen, either Fulbright, or something else- you never know what opportunities could open up to you!
  4. Catsushi, it's nice that you have an advisor that cares! Sometimes I think, oh if I had applied to such and such country (Russia, most likely) instead, I would have heard already!!
  5. Just got a save the date for orientation, but still don't have any idea about acceptance/rejection. Thank you Fulbright!
  6. Triscuit and any other lurkers out there, just want to say I was an alternate last year and this year I reapplied and was accepted. So, if this is something you really want, try, try again! Don't lose hope.
  7. I kind of thought the spreadsheet was structured that way because there weren't enough entries for each country on their own, plus you know how people love to lump the Stans together. Also, I am so with you on the schoolwork thing!
  8. Do you think Central Asia notifies en masse like Sub Saharan Africa did? I can't afford to wait until May- just received a different fellowship notification I have to reply to by May 1.
  9. Check your email! Got my fellowship email- accepted!
  10. Another day of silence for Central Asia applicants! Dear Fulbright people, please don't make me wait until May!
  11. I feel like I've given up on having any notifications today.
  12. It's been so quiet these last two days. Even if I don't expect to hear until later, it makes me feel better when other people are getting news.
