If you need to ask, it's safe to say it's too early.

The University of Houston's economics Phd program made me an offer of admission. AFTER I HAD ALREADY MOVED TO HOUSTON AND JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE CLASSES WERE TO START IN FALL 2009 IT REVOKED THE OFFER OF ADMISSION. I COULD NOT START IN FALL 2009 BECAUSE IT REVOKED THE OFFER OF ADMISSION BUT I HAD ALREADY MOVED TO HOUSTON AND PASSED UP OTHER OFFERS.

THE CLAIM WAS THAT THE DEPARTMENT HAD MISUNDERSTOOD THAT I HAD ATTENDED JOHNS HOPKINS ADVANCED STUDIES M.A. IN APPLIED ECONOMICS AS THE DOCTORAL TRACK ECONOMICS PHD COURSES. THE MISTAKE WAS COMPLETELY THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS SINCE I DID NOT MISREPRESENT MYSELF IN THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS. THEY DIDN'T CARE IF THE MISTAKE WAS THEIRS AND THAT I HAD ALREADY MOVED TO HOUSTON.

I accepted a place at Rutgers University a few days ago. There were still a few places I was waiting to hear back from...but realised that even if I did receive more offers...it wasn't going to change my preference. 
Feels great committing to a PhD program - I can now sort out my summer plans and perhaps treat myself to a holiday.
Now I've just got the US visa process to deal with...

I steer clear of "Regards" because of a bad experience a friend had once. He typed his closing instead of using a signature, and accidentally hit a t instead of g (they are very close to each other). So his email to his boss said:

....I just use "Thanks" or "Sincerely" because now I am paranoid! 

My visit this weekend was fantastic, despite the snow storm that rolled through as everyone had to leave. It looks like this is the official visiting/deciding season now for most people so good luck to everyone in making the right choice so that we can all be happy and satisfied with where we go!
