    Hey everyone!
I need your help, I had to write an essay with APA reference, but I was too lazy to add the references right away and when the time came to add them I was tight in time so I thought...well let me just randomly reference my work with the articles and the books I was supposed to use... When my teacher checked my sources, obviously the references pages did not correspond to sentences/ideas so I told him something must have went wrong and it is probably the way I work by pulling out information and taking notes aside then writing my paper.. He told me I must prove him wrong with these notes...but I need a good reason why my references do not correspond to my work... Please help.. I want to message him ASAP with a reason!
    Thanks in advance

Domino's parmesan bites... & crunchy lava cakes... & pasta... & pizza. The NJ/NYC native in me is so disappointed & the lactose intolerance in me is so angry, but, mmmm, dat garlicky buttery dough. Also, I have a soft spot for Studio Ghibli films, as well as absolutely awful D-list "horror" films the 50s & 60s.

After reading this thread, I'm starting to feel like a male roommate trapped in a female roommate's body.

    Hi sweets,

I thought this thread was kind of dead, but here goes...

Nothing happened with the first guy (the original topic of this post). In fact, I've barely seen him all semester.

BUT, the second guy and I are going tango dancing this weekend.

What I think it's important to keep in mind when discussing the terms "childless, child free, and not sure yet" is that for many people, these decisions change and evolve over time. I know many people who when they were 20 said they absolutely did or didn't want to have children but now at 25 have changed their opinion one way or the other. It's really important to keep this in mind and be careful not to judge people for changing their minds over time ("but you always wanted to have kids!" "but I thought that you of all people would never have kids!"). These decisions are not alway monumental, and depend a lot on factors such as current partner and current income.

I know a lot of people who are not categorically against having children but who respond to the question with something like "At the moment, that would not be financially feasible, and I'm not sure when it will be" or "Maybe someday, but I haven't found someone yet with whom I'd like to have a child." When I'm asked whether I want to have children, I usually answer "I'm not sure yet" (I'm almost 25) but if I were really honest, the answer would be something more like this: "If at some point in the future I am in a relationship that I feel is stable enough to support childrearing, have enough money to afford to raise a child, have a stable job and have the desire to have a child with my current partner (who is also considering reproducing), then I might start to think about having a child." I just couldn't even consider it one way or the other unless these requirements were fulfilled, so at the moment it's a moot point (I have neither a stable job, money in excess, or a partner with whom I would consider reproducing).

I'm 23, & I'm not sure whether I want to have kids. I've given some thought to the possibility of being a foster parent (with a partner/spouse) in lieu of adopting or having kids. There's also a possibility that a serious illness I had 4 years ago & its treatments have left me unable to have children, &, even if I can, I'd almost certainly have to get a C-section, which I am not super down with. My "10 year hopes/plan" is very much centered around me, where I'd like to live, the possibility of pursuing a PhD, etc.; I don't even see parenthood as being remotely feasible until I'm in my early or mid-30s.

For those who have definitely decided they never want children: was there something in particular that helped you reach this conclusion? What was your thought process? ("I just don't want kids" is a totally valid answer here, of course)

I distinctly recall speaking to Dr. Dirkmaat, Dr. Nawrocki, and Dr. Latham and them telling me that a strong background in the sciences was essential. Speak with a few physical/forensic anthropology professors and see what they say about what you can do to make your application the best it can be for next year.

As far as actually putting courses on the CV...probably not essential. They'll show up on your transcript if you do take them and I'm not even sure anyone reads them anyway.

I'm a girl (I would hardly call myself a lady!) & I live in a house with 4 guys. When I was in undergrad & living off-campus, I lived in a house with 5 guys & 1 girl. FWIW, I'm cisgender, & I think "queer" is the closest approximation to my orientation. I agree that guys are typically messier in the kitchen, but, besides that, I imagine it's the same as it would be if I were living in an all-girl house where all of the roommates clicked. I don't know how or why I've ended up living with mostly guys, but I'm more concerned about personality & how our lifestyles mesh than gender/sex/whatever else.

Hey all! I just got offered acceptance off the wait-list for my top-choice at University of Massachusetts Boston...however, no word on funding yet and they need my decision by April 15...eeeeek now I'm in a tough spot having to compare two programs, while still waiting to hear about first-round decisions from my last school.

History is not a synonym for the "past." The past is what happened. History is an interpretation of the past or an argument about it.

Hello again, everyone. Sorry I haven't been on in a while; things have been very busy. Today I received an update from two universities. Here are the final results for all the ones I applied to:

    1. Purdue- Rejected.
    2. SIUC- Accepted. Will be attending.
    3. CWU- Accepted. Appears I got off the waitlist.
    4. California State University at Northridge- Accepted.

I'll be sending out emails to CWU and CSUN to let them know that I am declining their offers. Hope this helps someone!

So after a lot of back-and-forths, weighing of pros and cons, and some soul searching to figure out what is really important to me in my graduate education, I've decided and I'll be attending Brown in the fall. I am so excited about my advisers and the unique opportunities I've discussed with them to really shape my degree how I want it.

Congrats to everyone who has decided and to those who haven't, good luck. It's almost over!
