  1. SFGiants, are you applying to schools in the west coast only? There are many great programs in California. However, I believe the very best MSW is at the University of Washington. I would loveeeee to go there. I had the pleasure to visit the campus this past summer and fell in love. Did you know UW and UCLA has the same architect? Pretty awesome. Don't know about that rain though but it would have definitely been an option if I haven't already built my connections here in sunny So Cal. Good luck!

  2. Describe your experiences with diverse populations and groups, and how those experiences have contributed to your interest in social work. Which population (defined by culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, psychological and/or physical functioning) would you like to serve and why?

i'm having a little bit of a problem answering this question. There is a population (kids and families) that i would like to work with, but does that make me too narrow minded? Should i say more groups? Should i say i want to work with everyone? thanks

I think you should say what you feel. It comes off more honest and it will show in your work experience :) Oh! and it will also determine which category you will be placed in.

  3. I was recently accepted to USC's MSW program. HOWEVER, it costs a ton of money, and by a ton, I mean 90k. I am so torn. It would be a dream to go to USC but the price is so excruciating. I am currently waiting for a reply from UCLA, CSULB, and CSUF. Does anyone have any opinions on the different types of programs or which school is the best choice? It would be very helpful!
