Have you submitted the DS160 form?
time_consume_me replied to Ken5566's topic in IHOG: International House of Grads
good to know this is an option! I know my locale consulate also lists emergency/expedited cases as their only possible route at the moment. Please let us know how this goes! Good luck. edit: spelling -

D160 is in but I haven't gotten ANY feedback on what is happening or how to proceed. I came here to ask about visa interview appointments. The tab on my CGI page (cgifederal.secure.force.com or similar) still reads "No appointment is currently scheduled" and I cannot even click it. It's not a link to anything. Has anyone made it past this step? -
Check out on and off campus independent newspapers and blogs. Vancouver has a slew of them (though I think the Georgia straight was just bought up??? RIP my angel?). @starshiphistory

enjoy one of the most beautiful campuses in one of the most beautiful parts of the world! Congrats.

Do it. I did and the results were worth it. Does your POI seem willing to go to bat for you? They can be of help on that front too.

Asking for more fellowship?
time_consume_me replied to 063836's topic in IHOG: International House of Grads
Before the virus got bad, I asked for more -- basically to help my move. A few weeks later I had a one time award to be taken up on matriculation. Always, always worth a shot. Many people told me to try it. I'm glad I listened. -
Could you not still use the money to visit NYC and quietly walk through campus? Just a (perhaps dastardly) idea ....

Can't edit but I would like to explain my post better: I meant for HEAL which went out in the wake of History PhD rejections for those who applied there with East Asian/Transpacific topics. Good luck to everyone still waiting!- 106 replies

MA in global history at Freie Universität Berlin

Certainly the chance to study with Prof. Sebastian Conrad would be an incredible opportunity. Through him connections could be made with Tokyo and Princeton Universities by way of the Global History Collective, I would think. Check it out here: https://coretocore.tc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ About the program itself, I hope someone else might be able to provide you with their opinions/experiences. Good luck. -

Yes, I have been seeing Harvard EALC results posted though I wondered how users were treating HEAL. I read the results as EALC being apart from HEAL and that no HEAL results (or even unofficial tip-offs) have been posted.- 106 replies

This thread has been so quiet this year! Columbia (EALAC) seems to have sent word today. How about Harvard with HEAL? The sent their History rejections today but nothing from HEAL yet, right?- 106 replies

How very NYC ? (edit: oh god I just realized it was a rejection for you -- hopefully NYU works out?!? Keep the NYC dream alive)

Waitlisted at Princeton a few hours ago. Any insight into how this works there would be of HUGE help. Is it ranked by department or by field? What does this mean for my chances to visit (I'm international)? Should I reach out to people outside the admissions office (POI, department admin)? @HardyBoy, perhaps you can help? Here's to hoping more news comes this week. Good luck everyone. Edit: dipping back into 2014 and further, I see that Princeton almost never (actually never?) takes people off the waitlist. Bummer.

Looks Princeton is getting going! Congrats to the first admit. I suppose it was a direct, personal email and not a portal update, right?

Wow congrats! What a way to find out... I can't imagine.

Penn sent out another wave of interview invites last week and it looks like they are following a similar schedule as in previous years. This means interviews in last week of Jan/first week of Feb, offers around Feb 16th, and rejections in a big wave the following week.

Unfortunate, but I am glad to have this info. Thanks.
