Yay! I'm glad that your application got straightened out! Guess we'll be waiting until April 15th!

I honestly expected to have heard from two or three schools by the end of this week. This is torture. I am so tired of constantly waiting *sigh*

Just heard back from UWEC and I got waitlisted, but I'm just happy it's not a rejection and that they didn't forget about me!!

I get that. I was so happy when I got waitlisted for my 2nd choice school. I hope you get in! I would definitely contact them to express a continued interest in their program. They'll want to know who has already accepted elsewhere and who is still wanting to attend their program I would think.

I feel your pain. 4 of my schools have given people decisions and I'm just sitting here like... Uh, you didn't forget me, right??? Hang in there, this is the last month of waiting!!

I'll bet she forgot it was March already. If the email said late March, that would be consistent with what she maybe meant to say.

Oh my gosh, I hope the lady from PSU misspoke. The email said mid-March, which I believe is historically when they've notified. I think worst case she meant late March, as March just arrived and maybe she thought we were still in February, ha. :-) But even if that's the case (late March)...boo. They said mid-March. They'll definitely notify before April 15th though, unless they're totally deviating from their standard protocol.
Late next WEEK would sure be nice!

Just got my first wait-list notification. I never thought I would be so happy about getting wait listed!

So to update, UWEC did receive my on-campus program, and the woman on the phone told me that the application was still in review. Did everyone who applied to University of Wisconsin Eau Claire already hear back? Or are some of you still waiting on the letter as well?

rzilby reacted to koalalover1 in 2016 Applicants
I thought the exact same thing! I saw people had found things out, but my letter from UW Eau Claire did not send to my college house... it sent to my permanent home address today! People got their letters so much earlier than me...I'm not sure why this happened, but maybe that happened to you? Do you commute or live on your campus?
UW Stevens Point also told me I was supposed to get a post in the mail last week with a form to fill out, but I didn't get it until today.... maybe the post is just slow? Hopefully you hear some good news! I just got my letter today and it was a waitlist, not a rejection, so maybe yours is on the way I also am yet to receive a straight up acceptance, so this whole process is nerve wracking! Hopefully some good vibes come our way!

Depends on what you mean by "miserable." That focus seemed to be more on his ability (or lack thereof) to purchase treats from the train cart or having to buy second hand books, clothes, etc. I grew up like that and still live in a way that implements the same tactics...used books for school or for pleasure are common in my life, I'm a master at finding amazing steals at the thrift store, etc. Doesn't bother me. Furthermore, Ron had a wonderful family, a great best friend, and got the girl. All the riches couldn't save Harry's parents or prevent him from murder attempts. I'm all good.

Haha, considering how many years late our Hogwarts letters are, I'd hope we'd get good funding.

I was one of the people who had all of their William Paterson info disappear, but it was only for one day and then it was back, so I think it was just a system glitch. The date on the "complete and ready for review" part will always be the day that you're looking at it (I know because I've checked it every day since lol) so I don't think they've started reviewing yet, but maybe they have and the status just hasn't changed to "in review". From the looks of the forums it seems like they're usually pretty late in sending out decisions.

A 5.0GPA, undergrad research leading to the cure for cancer, be the MVP of the school football team, save puppies from burning buildings, and also have hobbies (with trophies) because you are a well-rounded person despite all the time the rest of those things took up.
But really, I have no clue. I see people with 4.0 GPAs and internships and I think that's fantastic and they're definitely getting in. Then they say they got rejected and I'm like... Oh. Okay. I'm just gonna sit here and hope for a miracle then.
On a side note, that volunteer experience sounds amazing. I would love to have a chance to volunteer with aphasia patients! It's something I've been super interested in since learning about it in my Psych of language class!

Well, then I guess it's really just hoping for the best.
In-state students were mentioned, but how do state schools value out-of-state applicants? I would think that since tuition costs more, it would play a part in the decision. Or do they generally prefer in-state applicants?
