Make sure they hard guarantee the funding too. Michigan has had funding issues this year, which culminated in their withdrawing offers to some accepted students. Their AHRQ grant renewal value was lower than expected because their grading relative to their peers dropped a good amount. It is possible that those who have a first year package there may end up with underfunding or funding problems in the later years. Try to get the details to avoid any surprises that they may not be directly telling you.

Just called UC Berkeley Health Policy PhD program, and was told that the results would come out in next two weeks. There is no interview this year - strange.

I am an international student too. I applied to McGill on November 9th - this is now my top choice pretty much.

Why did you not retake your test earlier and 3-4 times? The GRE is an important standardized indicator of your ability. Other candidates with a 163 put in their effort and showed their ability relative to you. You had a year.

This is not a very helpful response. I also have a lower quant score and I've taken it twice. I would say that if you don't get in, spend more time studying for the next round. I did this and my quant score rose by 7 percentile points. Good luck!

Yeah. I was offering the information I have. I know the programs are different. There's really no need to get snippy.

An interview does not equal an acceptance, just like a job interview does not mean that you will get the job. What it does mean, is that you are in the running and nearing the finish line.
Acceptance rate - it probably depends on the school/program/number of open slots/how many other folks get an interview and a bunch of other factors.

That is for the Mental Health PhD program. Which is different.

I am applying to PhD programs in health policy. I applied to around 10 schools. If I am extended an interview from one of these, what are the chances of an acceptance?
Q.) Is an invitation to interview essentially an acceptance? What is a typical interview acceptance rate?
