When this message board was more popular a while back, some of us would stay up all night on the GRFP thread during the scheduled maintenances that matched up. Usually the first one seriously suspected would end up being the correct one. The March 17th one through us for a loop a few years back because it seemed too early. Good luck to everyone staying up tonight.

I hope the results come up by tomorrow. We have waited for so long and I just hope tomorrow is the day ?

I wish the same, but I also believe the same.
Luckily, the last full week of March is indeed next week. We're all so close to knowing. And not to sound cheesy or anything, but we're in this waiting game together. I can tell we're all (generally...) getting really curious about the results!
Hang in there! I'm planning to set up activities for myself to healthily distract myself from thinking about results until/whenever they do arrive (or unless there's a clear enough indication that results are on the way...I'll reserve my excitement and intense anxiety for then--just being honest *shrug*). But really, I (personally) do understand the struggle right now!

Are we going to be notified either way? Or will we need to check?

If results are indeed posted: My honest guess is early Tuesday morning (Eastern) since the majority of the site maintenance falls on Tuesday morning. I could be wrong though.

I have an evening full of plans, thankfully. Cooking dinner, walking around familiar streets outside. It happens to be a really nice day where I am, so I want to take advantage of that. I really suggest a walk or light exercise. I walked for at least a half-hour this morning, and I felt a lot better after realizing that results might very well come out super soon. I also have some paints and cheap, small canvases I might use (I am no artist, believe me.). Finally, I like to write haikus. Maybe I'll come up with a silly and lighthearted one for today.
That's just me though. Before the evening hits, I'm just watching/listening to some YouTube videos that make me happy. I was just listening to Queen actually.
Hopefully this helps/I'm in a somewhat similar boat--and good luck with your paper!

Any good suggestions for how to make today go by faster? My only plans rn are to continue to avoid working on my paper that's due tomorrow

Good point (though, I'm personally unsure if it's put on both sites. Maybe?). I sure hope it shows up there as well.

That's a good point! My best guess would be for Tuesday, March 30; Friday, April 1; or Tuesday, April 6! We will just have to wait and see ?

The results have come out on a Tuesday or Friday for the last decade so very likely a false alarm, unfortunately.

I update this every year. These are the first mentions of people getting the email, but some do receive them later:
2020: Tuesday, March 31 (right near midnight 30/31st)
    2019: Tuesday, April 9
    2018: Tuesday, April 3
    2017: Friday, March 17
    2016: Tuesday, March 29
    2015: Tuesday, March 31
    2014: Tuesday, April 1
    2013: Friday, March 29
    2012: Friday, March 20
    2011: Tuesday, April 5
    2010: Tuesday, April 6
    2009: Friday, April 10 & Tuesday, May 19 (released in 2 batches)
    2008: Tuesday, April 1
    2007: Friday, March 23
    2006: Thursday, March 30
    2005: Saturday, April 9
    2004: Thursday, March 18
    2003: Friday, April 4
    2002: Friday, March 15
    2001: Tuesday, March 20
Pretty consistent Tuesday or Friday for the past 15 years. Usually near end of March / beginning of April.

Responding to a couple things here:
Acceptance rates have traditionally been consistent, as in, they have roughly the same acceptance rate across the board, so categories with more submissions will have more awards than categories with fewer submissions. (For example, if acceptance rate is 10%, ~10% from every category will get an award — this does not necessarily apply to subfields.) Not sure if it's still that way this year.
And @PopSoc, I went to their webinar and was griping at them because I'm in the social sciences and we already don't have many funding sources. They said they aren't allocating more awards to the priority areas. It sounds like they're adding those priority areas as new categories one can choose, but applications in other categories (e.g., regular social sciences) won't be reviewed any differently. It basically sounded like they are just going about business as usual but trying to recruit applications that incorporate these areas, not necessarily giving more awards to these types of applications. I hope they're not just messing with us, but it at least provided some momentary comfort.

Hey! I'm also moving across country, though not for the first time.  When thinking about what to pack, my main suggestion is purge, purge, then purge again! Don't move anything you haven't worn, used, etc in the past 12 months (or less). As for furniture and such, do a little research into moving costs - it may be cheaper to replace your furniture when you get where you're going vs moving it.
If you can, I would say email a current grad student or two wherever you are headed and ask about things like technology requirements, or suggestions about where to live, shop, etc. They are more likely to respond sooner, and have a better idea about how to live on the stipend
    Congrats on your acceptance!

I just formally accepted my offer to Michigan!! Still can't believe it! I'm so excited about the program and my advisor and can't wait to get started!! Anyone else headed to Ann Arbor?
Good luck to those still waiting! I'm SOOO thrilled to be done and hope your waiting ends soon (and with the outcome you desire)!!

Mine took a couple weeks to come, I assume while they were formalizing funding and such.  Just be patient, if they offered it's because they want you and it will come!

I just heard back from the last of my schools! It was a rejection, but I don't care at all because (to put it tactfully) the program came across as very lackluster during the interview (students came across as apathetic/arrogant, faculty argued vehemently in front of us -- it was weird). Also, my parents really wanted me to go there (to be closer to home) so I'm thrilled that this school isn't an option!
Anyways. I am so so glad that the waiting is over. I feel free.
