I is stressed *Non-Judgmental Space for PhD Applicants*

It is worth to have something guaranteed. At least you don't stop stuying, which is not interesting for your CV. That's how I'm taking this whole thing now... trying not to freak out and sticking with this master. I'm going to try publishing as hard as I can, maybe with 2 papers in very good international journals it makes things easier to a get to a good Ph.D.

Same here. I will be sticking with the master's program in my home university (in Brazil). People say PhD is what matters most. What about you?

Has anyone here also experiencing depressive symptoms? For real, I think I'm getting depressed. No interview invites, no response from the last two universities... it's a horrible situation.
  4. Thank you for your response. It is nice to read such kind of advice because this is my first time applying to graduate schools outside Brazil and I'm probably not being accepted (already rejected from U of T and didn't hear anything back from McGill and Western). I was already accepted in the Master's program in my home university, so I'm going to focus on publishing and getting good grades to have a chance.
  5. Congratulations! Would you mind sharing your stats?
  6. For the Canadian members: is UWO a reputable University in Canada?
  7. Just checked the U of T application website with the rejection letter. Not surprised. Now I'm left with McGill and Western.
  8. Have you guys already heard from any university? If so, let us know ?
  9. I know how that feels... I just started developing depression symptoms LoL... for real
  10. That's a lot of applications... are you Canadian? By the way, I have contacted Western's Psychology department and I was told they will be sending interview invitations in this next week.
  11. I have the feeling I won't be considered even for an interview... so sad. My last hope is Western University. Do you guys know whether their program are competitive or not?
  12. I thought it was the same thing... ?. I think it's both...
  13. I just called Western and the attendant informed me that the they were almost done with the invitations for the clinical program.
  14. Anything about McGill or Western?
  15. Does anyone heard anything yet?
  16. Do you know if it happens often, even when you never have a contact with your POI? These canadian universities are getting on my nerves...
  17. Oh, I'm hoping they are different ?. Good to hear that I'm not the only one who didn't receive anything from Western yet... God I'm so nervous ?
  18. Hi! I am Brazilian, applying to master's programs in University of Toronto, McGill and Western. I am a little worried because I haven't heard anything from any of those universities yet. What is this recruitment weekend that you mentioned? I'm freaking out ?

Nothing here (McGill). The only thing I noticed is that my status changed from Submitted to Under Review or something like that.

    Official vs Unofficial Transcripts

I sent a "printed to PDF" version of my grades, which is not even a transcript, and forgot to translate them to English (it is in Portuguese). Does anybody know if it will disqualify my application or they will request it by e-mail if there is something wrong?

Fall 2019 Social Psychology Applicant Thread

Hello everyone! I am applying to McGill University, U of T and Western University. My research interest is about personality and emotion judgements and sexual/romantic attraction.
  25. Does anyone here understand the process of admission by canadian universities that require the two last years GPA? My CGPA is a mess, about 3.4/4, but a have nearly "straight As" in the last two years (3.9/4). On the application process, do they consider look at the rest of the grades as well? Since I am an international student, I have converted my grades.
