Well, now that it's 5pm on a Friday I think it's safe to say we've all survived another week of the waiting game! Congratulations to everyone who has received positive news so far!! To those that haven't, it is a crushing feeling but at least now you can begin planning your next steps! And to those that don't know yet... I feel your pain!

Glad to know I am not the only one desperately seeking any sort of timeline for admissions  I really hope it still happens that week too! It seems to have happened that week two years in a row so I'm going to try and stay positive! I know what you mean about the references as well.. I have a professor who also has a great deal of confidence in me, and while comforting, it's also very nerve-wracking because I don't want to disappoint!! I just want to know my results so I can get going with the next stage of my life, whatever that may be! 5 more days until March begins...

Lol!!! I did the same "research" and came up with a similar week to expect results (March 6-10) but with the later admission for advanced standing at UofT I am not too sure what to think. Hopefully it still happens that week, it would be an absolute D-R-E-A-M. Both my references whom work at UofT as program directors/professors say I am a shoe-in and have my confidence level skyrocketing, but I need to see it to believe it.. AHHH the uncertainty and anxiety and self-inflicted social pressure is getting to me

I am a two year applicant so I know there's probably a few weeks left before I hear anything... but just hearing about all of your results is SO encouraging, it's finally starting!! Congrats everyone!! And to those who haven't heard anything yet... Although this is my first time applying so I don't know first hand, I have heard there are waves of admissions for both one and two year programs, so don't lose hope! There's still time

Hey lindaMSW - I think diversifying would be good, having some back-ups, so maybe try and find 3 or 4 that you can apply to next year that would fit your lifestyle/where you are at in terms of location of study or method.  I know Windsor has some flexible programs and some coursework that is closer to the city as well I think.
Also you can go back and take a research course or a stats course to strengthen that part of your application if GPA is something you want to boost.  I recently found these courses for a friend of mine, they are through Athabasca - one can do them all online. Keep working on it and building up your social work experiences for your resume!  As someone on here already said if you are building up your career in that direction and your resume reflects that, so will your opportunities

Hey! I applied to York's 2-year MSW program. I'm not quite sure if my credentials are up to par, but I feel that it's always difficult to judge your own credentials... no matter what I do it never feels like it's enough experience! That being said, I would say that if you want to be a social worker then just go for it. I know that the applications are a lot of money, but my thinking was that if I don't try then for SURE I'm not getting accepted... so may as well give it a try, see where you stand, and if you don't get admitted then use that as motivation to keep improving! That's my plan anyway

I am sorry to hear about that lindaMSW. Please don't let this destroy your self-confidence, there are many factors out of your control that can affect the admissions decision. Your perseverance shows your dedication to the field and genuine desire to help others, and I think that says more about you than a silly letter. Keep your head held high, one day this will just be a story of courage to tell!

    Thoughts:
If they have to wait till mid-March, how long will 2 years have to wait

I hope this applies to everyone who has not followed forum rules and not just individuals in this particular community who spoke out against inappropriate comments? Why are they being punished? This is ridiculous, sorry. The 50+ down votes should indicate that this one person is problematic, yet you choose to ban or restrict those who call them out on their inappropriate comments.
