    Congratulations to those offered admissions!!! I wish I where in your shoes. As for UCI I just confirmed with graduate coordinator that interviews will take place on January 26 & 27. They also mentioned that invitations will be sent out "within the next couple of days." So good luck to all those who applied, hopefully we'll hear good news soon.

    @AspiringScholar17 This is the only thing mentioned on the website: Invitations will be extended for an on-campus visit for prospective students Dates of visit: January 26-27, 2017 The visit will start with dinner with current graduate students on the 26th, and will end with dinner with department faculty on the 27th I thought it was rather soon considering that the deadline was only Jan. 1st.

    I noticed on UC Irvine's website that the interview days are January 26 & 27. I was just wondering if anyone has been extended an invitation or heard from them?

    I haven't heard anything, yet. However, I did notice that someone posted on the results page that they were contacted earlier this month but it was for developmental psych.

    Starting to contemplate applying to a MA programs in the event I don't get accepted into a PhD program this year. My other idea was to continue volunteering as a research assistant and re-apply next year.

    Congratulations on your Skype interview and securing an invitation to the formal interview. Good luck on the in person interview, although it doesn't seem like you need any luck.

    After failing to get invitations to 2 of 5 PhD programs I applied to for the fall 2017. I seriously think I won't get accepted this round and that I'll need to reapply next year. I'm disappointed but I definitely recognize there are certain things I could have done better. Additionally, I've contacted a professor and will be joining their research lab in a two weeks. Although I had experience in several labs before they didn't really relate to my research interest; this new lab more closely aligns with my interest. I also feel like next time I'll apply to programs outside my home state of California. I know it's still a little early but I'm just planning for next round of applications.

      Took me two years to get in, and only then through some really fortuitous but unexpected circumstances. You don't realize just how much chance there really is in all of this. Good luck to you, though. It's not over until it's over.

      Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I do have one interview coming up at a school I would love to attend, so there is hope.

    I'm not sure how it would be viewed by faculty or ADCOM members, but the idea is sounding more appealing by the day.

    I was starting to lose hope that I would get an interview with any of the programs I applied to, but I've just gotten a phone call from an ADCOM member from UCI's Psychology & Social Behavior program. Interviews are January 21-23. I feel a sense of relief that I've least I have one interview to look forward to.

    Congratulations on the invitation to interview, that's very exciting and encouraging. I see that you applied to several programs. Is this your top choice?

    Hi all, And best of luck to you all in this nerve wrecking application/waiting process. I am also applying to Social Psych programs, my interests are towards self-perception and identity formation of minority individuals.
