  1. I applied to West Florida too and I’m still waiting as well. I’m also still waiting on Southern Mississippi, but they don’t make decisions until next week.
  2. Thanks guys! I applied under biological for bioarch, and I've been anxiously waiting since I saw the results post last week. I've been expecting a rejection, so I went a bit crazy last night thinking I was missing the decision letter. Good luck!
  3. Hey guys! Those of you who have heard back from Texas A&M would you mind sharing your subfield? I just saw the results posted yesterday but I still haven't heard anything.
  4. @phyanth Thanks! I do go to MSU, I'm from Michigan as well!
  5. That was me! I'm not a current student there, and I was super surprised they looked through the my application already. At the time I was accepted only one of my letter writers had submitted their reference, but I'm not complaining!
  6. Hi guys! I'm applying this application round too! I'm in my senior year right now, and spent most my summer looking into schools, preparing my application materials, and studying for the GRE. I'm interested in bioarchaeology, and specifically the bioarchaeology of childhood. I'm most interested in things like cultural contact and migration and how they affected biological aspects of childhood. I have about ten schools on my list, and my next steps are to start reaching out to them. I've got two field schools underneath my belt and an independent research project. I volunteer in three labs and also occasionally help with our campus archaeology program. I have a good GPA and should really strong letters of rec. I didn't do awesome on the GRE, but my advisor said that other aspects of my application will hopefully compensate for that, but its still nerve racking because I really don't have the time to study all over again, and I still haven't decided if I want to retake it or not. I'm still putting the finishing touches on my SoPs, but if anyone wouldn't mind looking at my CV that would much appreciated!
  7. I know for sure that I want to go to graduate school when I finish my undergrad (spring 2018), however, I'm not really sure where to start. I've been researching a decent amount of schools, but I'm not entirely sure what schools are in my league and which are pipe dreams. I'm interested in both MA and PhD programs. My focus would be in Mayan bioarchaeology. So far I've been interested in Texas A&M, Arizona State, and University College London. By the time I graduate I'll have two field schools, one domestic and study abroad that actually focuses on Mayan Bioarch. My GPA is currently 3.85 overall and 4.0 in anthropology. I volunteer in two archaeology labs and with my university's museum collections. I have a few professors who I believe would write my letters of recommendation. My biggest concern right now is really the GRE, practice tests that I've been taking are putting my scores between 305 and 310. I feel like I've hit a road block and am curious as to if there's schools that I'm completely missing or if these schools are even a possibility for me. Everyone always says to start early, and I'm just hoping I'm on the right path! Any input or suggestions would be great! Thanks!
