Anyone else here not receive a rejection from Yale back on Feb 13? If not, have you heard anything since then?

Hello. Some news... Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Annie Baker are leaving Hunter at the end of this term and teaching a limited amount at UTA 2019-2020. If you have applied to Hunter assuming they'd be there, you might want to complain, ask for fee waiver or refund. As of now you are applying to a program with no chairs or announced playwriting faculty.

I don’t think so. Brooklyn is notoriously blasé, Mickey Mouse, and rude to their applicants. Extreme nepotism, too.

I know that Brooklyn notified people already of acceptance. So at this point a non-response probably either means they just haven't gotten around to rejection emails or possibly they are building a waitlist.

Have heard of people getting Brooklyn offers today.

Yeah, that's it. But if I scroll to the bottom of the page there is a decision notification with a link to a letter. Assuming you don't see that--and considering the fact that someone reported a rejection here--maybe no news is okay news? Like I said, I wonder if there is a waitlist not communicated yet.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t get my official acceptance on the portal until yesterday, either. Have you checked there? So sorry you’re in limbo. Maybe there is an uncommunicated waitlist? I have no idea.

@Zebras4Ever I studied acting as an undergrad 2002-2008. My interaction with grad students was limited to production or in upper-level theatre elective courses. I don't remember how many playwriting students there were. A handful, not many. The professors I worked with were very generous and supportive. I'm still friends with several of them to this day. Tempe is a vibrant place and has only grown since I left. Also, ASU is an enormous university with over 70K enrolled.

Thanks for doing that. Seems quite odd that a person would either a.) lie that they got a call for interview or b.) lie about hearing from a friend who says they got a call for an interview. Either way, I’ll take horse’s mouth and appreciate you calling.

I would love any interview tales you have and what questions you were thrown. Just curious how these things go down aside from the obvious questions about why you, why here, why now. Anyone?

@lrb0192 Congrats! How do you plan on juggling? Is Brown going to wait for your other interviews? My Brown app is still sitting with no decision but lots of people are showing rejected so who knows. Maybe I'm your alternate in case you drop out. ;-)

@lrb0192 Have you received your travel info yet from Yale? I'm only going via Amtrak from NYC but haven't received anything in writing since I was called by them. Maybe it was a hallucination.
