Biased but would  highly recommend Brandeis

Beri Marusic is incredible and does a lot of great work esp at the intersection of epistemology, ethics, and action.

Peter Epstein is joining the department  though I'm less familiar with his work

Eli Hirsch, mostly known for his work in meta-ontology wrote a book recently about skepticism and advises epistemology students all the time.

also- Brandeis epistemology students have done really well, especially in recent years!

Not the same program, but also on the waitlist. I'll wait until the ddl. I think not many people would reject the admission...

I think you're in the wrong thread, this is philosophy.

Same here. Brandeis is just too expensive, and I don't think the job prospects in this field are good enough to justify any further debt. Also, maybe I didn't read into it enough, but I'm not sure if Brandeis gives you the opportunity to teach, which for me, is something I want to have experience in before moving to a Ph.D. program.

Hey, just on the point about teaching, Brandeis guarantees at least one semester of TA-ship though, almost always, you can TA far more often than that. I've found it to be an invaluable part of the program so far!

  4. Brandeis has big strengths in Metaphysics  (Eli Hirsch) Kant (Kate Moran is here and Jens Timmerman is here for a semester each year, he regularly advises students), Professor Hirsch teaches a course of philosophy of religion and Palle Yourgrau teaches courses and supervises theses on the Ancients! Brandeis might be a good fit, though -- of course -- as a current student I'm biased. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey, that'll definitely help me, as I'm on their wl! May I ask your aoi? Thanks!

Good to hear! Epistemology, with substantial interests in metaphysics, early modern, and philosophical methodology

I was told I was high on the waitlist. That's it.

It's different for many programs. Some will tell you whether you are high, middle, or low on the list. Others just say whether you're high. While others don't say anything. But, almost always, you can ask where you are on the waitlist and they will tell you. Though, some waitlists are not ranked so cleanly; some are in groups on the basis of AOI

Thanks! All the information I got was that there was a "reasonable chance based on previous history they could make me a full fellowship offer" though Prof. Bricker couldn't predict what that chance was exactly. Maybe I'll followup and ask if its a ranked waitlist etc.
