  1. Hello all, This is my first post here after coming here so often for inspiration to apply for graduate school. To make a long story short, I started university in 2011 and struggled with mental health. My mental health got so bad, I was dismissed for poor academic performance. After that, I went to community college and started doing better. I got an associates degree, graduated with honors and was presidential scholar twice. After that, I went a four institution where I graduated with a 2.966 GPA but did a lot of professional stuff and built a good grad school image for myself. I was a research assistant for a year, TAed two lab courses, published a research article from my own research with my name on it, presented two posters and give an oral presentation on my research. After graduating I started another research project for publication and got an internship in my field. So far the GRE has been the biggest issue in moving forward. The first time I took the GRE, it was not great V-151 Q142 AW-2.5. I decided to retake and the scores were not better, V-150 Q-140 and the AW score is one I am still waiting on. I want to increase my chances of getting into a program but my GRE scores do not look good and I suck at standardized testing. I am applying for the fall 2018 graduate programs in atmospheric science and earth systems. Should I take the GRE for the third time? I am applying to be a researcher, but math is important and writing are important.
