  1. I agree with this 100%. My first application cycle, I applied to 12 programs. And I was rejected from all but one, which was unfortunately a poor fit for myself and my wife. With much more preparation, I’ve had a better go around this time. I fully echo everything that rainbow is saying, think creatively about how you can get involved. Not just with students but with the professionals, volunteers for APA committees, explore the different webinars for networking, etc.
  2. Thanks for the update! I’m too nervous to reach out to my contact for updates, I almost feel like bothering folks makes me feel like little Timmy. “Please sir, an update please”
  3. Hey folks, With the understanding that not all folks within this forum are living in the U.S., I just wanted to share love and support for those who are challenged and impacted by the events occurring in DC. I hope everyone is finding a moment for wellness and respite right now. Please be kind to yourself, especially while we are still undergoing the admissions process amidst all of the madness.
  4. Don’t worry about hearing back already! Most programs interview in February, at least in Counseling Psychology. The programs contacting folks now are typically programs with January interview dates. Anecdotally, I’ve received communication from a few programs but they have only been programs with January Interview Dates. I have yet to hear from any February folks. 5. I thought I’d share a timeline update with you. One of my colleagues/friends from Div. 17 is a faculty member at UF and they shared the following with me: They should be done reviewing by Dec 23. Phone interviews will happen shortly after that until Jan 6, then Interview Day Invitations will follow (for an interview date of Feb 1-2). I hope this update helps.
  6. Also, why are so many schools scheduling their interviews for the SAME. DAY.
  7. They received applications from the graduate school last Friday, and began looking at them this week.
  8. First, I received an email from the school and shortly afterwards, I got a call from the PI.
  9. Just heard from UT Knoxville’s Counseling Psych program, I got an interview for January!
  10. I’ve heard from a PI at University of Kentucky, who I’ve worked with through my work in the APA briefly. She knew I got a new job and asked if she should still consider my application closely. So not any significant news but I think it’s means they started!
  11. I would recommend going to the section of the grad café, where applicants share when each program reached out to them with news regarding your interviews, successes, and rejections.
