  1. I was invited to interview at 5 of the 9 programs I applied to, but I'm feeling dejected after this whole process. I have yet to hear back from a few schools, but the odds don't seem to be in my favor in terms of number of interviewees vs. spots available. Does anyone have any advice for becoming a better applicant next cycle? Or advice in terms of back-up career options other applicants have considered? Or general advise on how to manage feeling broken down that so much hard work and waiting may result in nothing? I don't mean to be a downer, I'm so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to interview in the first place, but it's a grueling process.
  2. Anyone heard back from the PGSP - Stanford PsyD program? They said candidates could start to hear back at the end of February, but I know interviews are still ongoing.
  3. I got an email on Jan. 13th with a choice of interview dates for 1/22, 2/4, or 2/9.
  4. I know someone asked this already, but I did not see a response; has anyone received an interview invitation from Depaul's Clinical PhD (child track) program?
  5. Hi all! I am interested in pursuing an MSW at NYU because I like the clinical focus of their program and the opportunity to earn a dual degree in child development. However, I am originally from California and would be planning to move back and begin my career there with the goal of working toward LCSW licensure. As I understand it, transferring test scores and supervised hours can be difficult in California, as well as meeting the other state requirements. Does anyone have experience with this who can offer some insight and advise?
  6. Hi all! I am new to this forum, but need some advise! I am planning to apply to MSW programs for enrollment in the fall of 2018. I am originally from the San Francisco area and am interested in staying in California. I am currently looking into applying to UCLA, USC and Berkley. I graduated with a Psychology and Sociology degree from Boston University with a GPA of 3.73. Most of my professional experience has been in research as I am also applying to PhD programs in psychology, but I am mainly interested in clinical mental health, and would be interested in working directly with patients in a private practice or hospital setting in the future. Anyway, my question is for anyone who knows about these three programs. What are the advantages and focuses of each? What are the cons of each program? I would also love to hear any general information about any of these three programs. Thanks!
