I can see what you're saying, but I have to disagree. It is equally as rude to go to an interview knowing full well you're most likely going to accept an offer elsewhere. Not to mention, it's a lot of money out the window. Schools have applicants on hold for this very reason, and by her giving away her spot for the interview, she's most likely allowing a more eager applicant to take her place. I would say it's more considerate than anything.

Ok vent time. It drives me crazy when one of my schools is posted without the POI. Am I still being considered, do I cross that school off!l?!?! Very frustrating. Everyone wants to know the POI so either post it or don’t post anything cause you’re driving people nuts!!! 

I’m thinking of pulling a “George” & just showing up on interview day at my #1 school & acting like I was invited.

People don’t understand & say things like “this is it right” or you’re not gonna try again are you?” They don’t understand that it’s a specific mentor that has to end up accepting a student & has to choose you when they may have already decided who they’re taking next etc. also each cycle has different opportunities.
