Make sure they hard guarantee the funding too. Michigan has had funding issues this year, which culminated in their withdrawing offers to some accepted students. Their AHRQ grant renewal value was lower than expected because their grading relative to their peers dropped a good amount. It is possible that those who have a first year package there may end up with underfunding or funding problems in the later years. Try to get the details to avoid any surprises that they may not be directly telling you.

I'm out at NYU (whatever the general public health thread was). That's my application cycle done-zo! I'm in at 3 out of the 8 schools I applied for. One with guaranteed funding and two with funding I am waiting to hear back about!
1. U of Memphis - full funding for 3 years
2. U of Wisconsin-Milwaukee - interviewed for funding for first year
3. UT Health - I applied for a fellowship that would cover 4 years

It's nearly the ides of March and I'm still agonizing waiting on 2 programs.
I think we're at that point where "top" applicants have been admitted but have not officially accepted so schools are still hanging on to the second tier folks. If you've already chosen your program pleeeeaaase let your other schools know so the rest of us can be put out of our misery!!

I just reached out to University of Michigan Epi, and they said we should be hearing back within the 2-3 weeks, and it seems as if the notification process is staggered. So if you see any early acceptances and haven't heard back, all hope is not lost!

I haven't heard back! Though I think it's a soft reject because some people have already gotten interviews/acceptances from Brown. I actually forgot that I was still waiting for their decision, in my head I've stopped counting Brown as a potential school lol.

Just wanna chime in y'all - I reached out to another program once I heard an acceptance with a really quick turnaround, and they basically told me they are waiting to hear back from their first group of admissions before sending out additional admits. I was told I am on the list of qualified applicants, but they don't know if they could offer me admission without hearing back from their initial offers. Anyone get the sense funding is super tight this year?? I mean obviously, but I think it's affected quite a bit of our experiences.
I declined one of my previous fully funded offers with the hope that the karma would transfer to this other school (which is the only program potentially able to overtake my current top admission) but still no such luck. Hang in there, y'all! We will make it out of this somehow!

I also just got denied by Harvard, wasn't a great fit anyway.
Ugh, still no fully-funded acceptances at hand - and the waiting continues.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, that was me! I received an email from my assigned mentor telling me I was accepted and to expect an official acceptance shortly. I have yet to receive that official offer though. Oh, and I'm cancer epi.

I'm honestly in a strange daze right now. My official acceptance for Harvard's Population Health Sciences program came through a bit ago (Social and Behavioral Sciences concentration). I was not expecting this, at all.
Edit: Accidentally entered it under "Clinical And Population Health Research" on the Results page because there's a strange autocorrect system...

What kind of updates? I haven't sent any myself but I've noticed for some of the schools that don't use SOPHAS, you can update some documents on the application status page.

I recently had an additional paper placed under review for peer-reviewed publication. I simply emailed the graduate admissions coordinator for the department with an email explaining the update. I attached a more formal letter to the committee stating the update (in my case, paper title, journal, etc) and also attached an updated version of my CV.
All of the individuals who I emailed were prompt in response and were able to add the updated information to my application package. It was very simple and none of the admissions coordinators seemed to mind.
I hope this helps.
