Just wrapped a skype interview for PhD with Colorado. How long do people typically wait on a decision following these types of deals?
 
They said two weeks, but I know I would die of anticipation with that kind of timeline...

Officially rejected from 5/5 schools. I have several first author publications, great recommendations, and solid work experience, but think my GRE scores must have been the deciding factor (just below 70th percentile for Quant and Verbal). Has anyone else had a similar experience and re-applied the next cycle? Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what "typical" questions are, but I can tell you the ones I've gotten. I also applied to social/behavioral programs.
What do you think will be the most challenging part of pursuing a PhD for you? What are you looking to learn in the program? Is there a specific methodology you're interested in? What are you research interests? List a few research questions What are some structural barriers related to your research interests that you can identify? If you could do your dissertation tomorrow what would your question be and why? Design your dissertation survey/intervention- What methodology would you use? What type of intervention would you do to address issues you've identified? I also always have two groups of questions on hand. One group about the program itself and another related to POIs interests and past research. I've had good response to the questions "what makes a doctoral student successful in your program?" and "what is something unique to your program I can't find on your website?". Also- always ask about funding! One of my interviews it was my last question and the interviewer goes: "I always think something is off when students don't ask about funding."

I may be going to DU in the fall for my PhD and just thought I would pose a few of my questions on this thread in hopes that some people have some possible answers. I want to have some better ideas about housing in the area as I weigh my decisions on where to attend this fall.
I've seen that the light rail connects quite a few areas of the city (different suburbs/neighborhoods?) and that it extends for some way to further areas. Does anyone have approximate times on travel from the different suburbs/neighborhoods to DU via light rail or car as well (since I will have a car)? I guess I'm mainly asking if commuting is still very traffic heavy if you don't have to take I-25? Are there any areas you all would suggest or avoid when looking for rentals? Lastly, does anyone have any tips for looking/applying for rentals in Denver since the renting market is super competitive?

I also just got denied by Harvard, wasn't a great fit anyway. 
Ugh, still no fully-funded acceptances at hand - and the waiting continues.

Email update from NYU for anyone who is waiting:
“Applications are still under review now and we will be issuing decisions as soon as we've heard back from the doctoral admissions committee. At the very latest, all decisions will be sent by April 15th, but in most cases they are sent sometime around mid-March.”
This is seems awfully late to me...

Can Harvard and Columbia just put me out of misery already!? Waiting is agonizing. 

My email is so quiet... i would have expected more communication from schools this late in February. :/ 

I agree. I feel like a few people have heard and it's probably all rolling out in waves between now and Friday yah? Also I have 5 schools of the 7 I applied to I need to hear from (including Harvard). This torture needs to end!

They told me they hoped to notify people by end of the month. 
Yes, I agree. March seems late considering we have to commit in April... 

Guys, I know I'm being super impatient / slowly descending into madness, but I feel like March is crazy late, especially compared to the other disciplines! Give us the news, people!
