Has anyone heard from Columbia Epi? Interview or otherwise?
I interviewed with a member of the doctoral committee about 2 weeks ago, but have not heard from them since then.

Congrats! University of Michigan is my top choice, and anxiously refreshing my email for news lol. Any idea when official acceptance is coming out?
Thanks! No idea, I'm sorry, my potential advisor just said "soon". Did you go to the interview day in early February? You could perhaps email the epi admissions coordinator and ask?

I see on the survey that somebody received an acceptance to UMich PhD in Epi? Anybody want to claim that, and for what concentration? Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the late reply, that was me! I received an email from my assigned mentor telling me I was accepted and to expect an official acceptance shortly. I have yet to receive that official offer though. Oh, and I'm cancer epi.

There technically is one for Columbia, if you are reapplying... it would be the same portal they used to send the decisions from the prior year. NYU has no portal, it's an e-mail. Last year the rejections for NYU went out early February, so not sure what is going on this year... :/
Yes, sorry for the confusion, I was referring to those who applied for the first time.

Is there a portal for Columbia SBS? NYU SBS? Harvard PHS? I've looked over the emails I received when I applied and don't see any portal information, so I was just curious if there is a URL I could go to.
Also, would Sophas update if you are accepted/rejected/waitlisted??
thanks!
For Harvard PHS, you can check the status by logging into the GSAS portal where you submitted your application. There isn't a portal for Columbia and I'm not sure about NYU.

I was told the same thing, but I guess they are sending out results today?
12 minutes ago, eek_ said:Cool! Last question-did they say you would hear by this time? They told us we wouldnt hear until March.
Did you guys interview for epi or for another stream? We all received acceptances from BU epi, but Env and HSR may be sending decisions out later.

@epi_aspire Congrats!! I'm still waiting to hear back. Which track within epidemiology did you apply to?
Thank you!! I applied to cancer epi, good luck!

I'm honestly in a strange daze right now. My official acceptance for Harvard's Population Health Sciences program came through a bit ago (Social and Behavioral Sciences concentration). I was not expecting this, at all.
I feel the same way! I was accepted to Harvard PHS-Epi today and I still can't fully believe it.

They told me they hoped to notify people by end of the month.
Yes, I agree. March seems late considering we have to commit in April...
Thanks for the update! When did they tell you this?
7 minutes ago, ceterisparibus9 said:V curious about this myself. I never got a good feel for them in my correspondence, but I can always hold out hope for a surprise!
I agree, when I asked during the interview they just said "soon". Hopefully we hear this week or next.

Does anyone know when Columbia Epi is planning to release decisions?

I emailed with the Epi contact at Harvard, asking another question. She did mention decisions are to be going out the third week of February.
23 minutes ago, FrozenFreshMeat said:Just to add that I believe HSPH sending acceptance a few days before rejection. So by the time if I find others posting while nothing in my mailbox…?
Yes, it looks like last year they sent out acceptances and wait-lists on Wednesday and rejections on Friday. Here's to hoping we hear next Wednesday!

Apparently they plan to fill 14 spots at JHU-Epi. Not sure how they'll be distributed by track (it changes year to year).
Thanks! Do you happen to know how many people they accepted or how many they have accepted in the past?
-
Does anyone know how many students JHU-Epi accepts or how many spots they have available? Thanks!

Just got my official rejection from U of Michigan. Epi track. Infectious disease focus. Saw it coming though!
I'm sorry! Did you interview?

Yeah, that's my feeling too :/ I just wish they'd hurry up and decide already!
I applied to Social/Behavioral Science.I agree with @west_k, it really depends on the program. Getting an interview is great though!

Thank you so much, I found it! If it helps anyone, I haven't heard back yet from JHU.
I have not heard from JHU-Epi either, hopefully we hear next week. Does anyone know when Harvard PHS plans to release decisions?

Has anyone heard anything from Columbia or BU Epi?

I also received a rejection

Also, I hope everyone who had interviews this week aced it and get good news! Feel free to share with us on how it went.
I'm sorry to hear that, rejections suck, I was rejected by UW last week. Hang in there though, I hope you get some good news soon!!

Congrats! This is my second cycle applying. The first time it was someone random (which hinted towards where my chances stood) and this year it's a POI.
Bummer. Do you mind telling us which track and if you had an interview? It looks like a couple JHU rejections came in to according to the survey :/
Thanks! Congrats to you too!!
Hmm interesting, I'm actually being interviewed by a group of faculty in my track of interest.

I had an interview and it seems like others are also reporting interviews on the survey. Each track does their own evaluations and rankings (which are suppose to finish up next week) before things are sent to the full committee. Based on historical data points on the survey you probably shouldn't expect any word until mid-Feb. If you haven't heard about an interview just know that others have heard in late January and early Feb. in the past.
Thanks so much for your nice message! I actually heard today about an interview. Was your interview with a POI or someone from the doctoral committee?

Has anyone heard from JHU-Epi?

I interviewed for with one POI, but didn't receive a second interview request... I personally didn't think I did that well, so that might have been why.
16 hours ago, 00ber said:Don’t be too hard on yourself @pbcup! I also had only one interview for this track. Maybe this track isn’t doing more than one interview with each candidate.
I only had one interview for this track as well, so perhaps they are only conducting one per person. I also didn't think mine went well, but we will just have to wait and see!

Did anyone attend Columbia Epi's accepted Student's Day last Friday? I wasn't able to make it but would love to hear your thoughts on the program and your experience. Thanks!
