I got in off of the waitlist for full time 2 year. Looking forwArd to seeing y’all in the fall ? I hope to never go on this damn website again 

you should go to Washington for sure! getting to move is a privilege and you should take advantage of a new adventure! 

I applied to five programs for the Fall 2019 cycle. My residency is currently in Washington State, and I reside in Utah as I finish out my undergraduate. The programs were Utah, UW, USC, Michigan, and Ohio State. Out of those programs, I was only accepted into USC and Ohio State. I was also waitlisted at Michigan. Ultimately, I turned down USC because the tuition was just too much. It was not worth the price. However, I have been looking at Ohio State, out of state fees are still quite pricey but I could do that for a year and go instate for the next. The real question is, is it worth it? Would it be better to work for a year and reapply? My concerns is that if I do that, I may end up in a position where I don't get into my desired programs yet again and find myself in a rut I cannot get out of. However, instate is definitely cheap. Another problem is that there is only three programs in Utah, two of which are selective and one that only admits a cohort every other year. Another school is in the works for candidacy, but the risk of going to an unaccredited program is too risky for me. Washington has three programs, but one of them is a commuter only program and is too far to make feasible. The other program could work, but the housing situation is a mess and I don't want to buy furniture if I know I will not be there long term after graduation and have to move that stuff out. I am trying to figure out what would be my best move here. There is a lot to break down, it's difficult when your states have very few overall options. 

I think if you want to work in Seattle there is no better place to go than UW, especially since the program is nationally well respected

But mostly I wanted to post to those who have received a rejection. How disappointing! And Im sorry! But please please recognize this doesnt reflect on you as a person! Once you have processed, then I hope you can view it as an opportunity...an opportunity for a different direction for 2019/2020. You each have shown tremendous dedication and hardwork to get to this point. Please celebrate your successes! Cast your mind over feel good moments of the past and recognize the value you each have! Do not let this affect mental wellness which is far more important than school. Cheering you each on to whatever the next year holds! Be mindful. Be present. Love yourself. Enjoy the spring!

lol you're totally fine!! i went to UNC for undergrad and they are generally super last minute when it comes to administrative stuff. like they said for my undergrad acceptance they'd tell us in the month of january, and literally notified us jan 31st haha. it's super annoying and frustrating to deal with, but i don't think it means anything in terms of your application! I applied like december 11th and also haven't heard anything

You know, I'm not sure if this thread is the best for emotional well-being. Well, my own emotional well being anyway.
One can recite their own stats and read others but still wont have any idea if they will get accepted or not. I've seen some extremely qualified candidates get waitlisted and some candidates who may not 'WOW' on paper get acceptance. I've given up trying to have any notion of what admissions want.

Nope, haven’t heard anything yet. Do not doubt yourself. They’re just being thorough because the applicant pool doubled. March 15 is just the day they want to give everyone a decision by. You’ll be fine!!
 

I sent an email to the dean of admissions and she let me know that they have received more applications than expected and are still reviewing applications. She expects that all decisions will be sent out by march 15. She was really nice!
