  1. I haven't heard back at all from them either (joint History MEIS program)
  2. you can call and not give a name (make sure to call the graduate administrator), but all i got was you'll hear 1-3 weeks... not very specific, but they were very kind and polite.
  3. Just saw someone waitlisted to the Harvard Art History + Middle East studies program (good luck!) - I wonder if anyone has been accepted/rejected to the joint program? I haven't heard anything yet... its the last one I'm waiting for!
  4. Yes! I'm surprised they emailed on the weekend (technically Friday midnight). I've got a tough choice ahead of me though now (between Upenn and yale)
  5. I really think it puts some schools at a disadvantage for not responding sooner. I only have a Yale acceptance right now, and all I can do day and night is plan my future there! I interviewed with UPenn but until they actually accept me, I can't consider it a possibility and have tried to pushed it to the back of my mind (mostly to not get too disappointed).
  6. In regards to Columbia's stipend for NYC, actually it has proven to be more than enough for my husband at this point (about 28k - tuition and insurance covered). He has received funding to travel to conferences, and there is a summer stipend at around 3k. He currently pays 1300 for a room right by campus. We eat out often but never spend more than 15$ on a meal each. I don't support him at all, actually he's making the big bucks in our family lol, and he pays for all our activities. There is also some extra stipend for people with children (I don't remember the exact amount). BUT, two caveats - one, we went from living off of 20k joint income in another expensive city to 40, so we're frugal. Second, we haven't paid taxes yet since this is his first year... so we'll see! So far so good!
  7. Hey everyone. I know it's still pretty early for decisions, but I was wondering if anyone accepted to Yale has decided to go or not. I'm on the waitlist and going a little bit crazy from lack of information! I haven't heard back from anywhere else I've applied either...
  8. It was for the PhD program, the culture and representation stream. I hope you hear from them soon... my wife is dying to hear back from any of the schools she applied to
  9. I got an acceptance last week, totally out of the blue (no prior contact was made). But I will be declining it for Columbia soon.
  10. Hey, someone on the results page asked about Columbia MESAAS. I got an email last week from my POI about a week ago, then a short skype conversation. A week after the meeting I got the official notification.
  11. Thank you for posting this! I went from a total high b.c. of getting an interview with Yale, to a total low by almost certainly being rejected by everywhere I applied. I let my day job this gap year stop me from doing some crucial CV building (and it feels so bad to write 'independent researcher' on applications for conferences), but I won't let that happen again next year.
  12. Thanks for clarifying! I had the interview last week and have been anxiously waiting. fingers crossed!
  13. Mini-heart attack.. someone heard back from Yale. I have now gone from refreshing my email every 5 minutes to every 5 seconds. I wonder if it was from POI or DGS
