Bahaha yeah I'm already sitting here checking my email and this thread multiple times a day. Next week I'm not going to be able to get anything done.
I've also been trying to piece together what the process looks like for uploading results on the administrative side at SSHRC. There doesn't seem to be any discernible logic to how/when applicants are notified (from what I can tell, it doesn't appear to be based on last name, applicant status, location, or whether an award was granted).
My current grand theory is that you are assigned an application number when you submit your application and then all applications are assigned in batches to different administrators who are responsible for uploading results and sending the emails. So when you get your results depends on when some poor admin--who probably just wants to get through the workday like the rest of us--gets to it amidst their other work. I used to work in an administrative role at a college where we had to notify people of results and it pretty much worked like this.
Anyone else have any grand theories?

The important thing to remember is that if you do get accepted, it's merit-based and you absolutely deserve it. If you're rejected, it's just luck, arbitrary, political, etc., so don't worry about it!

Yeah, that is how I remember last year, except that I was able to log on before receiving the email alerting me to check the extranet (NOT the same as the portal), which just led to me hitting refresh every 5 seconds for 4 straight days.  I actually received the email alerting me to the extranet 3 days after my results were posted.  I'm a direct applicant, so there is no school office to contact, but not all schools will tell you anyway, or necessarily receive the results before you.

Last year was pure torture, I really hope they do it a bit better this year.
I think I waited like 5-6 days from the time the first people started posting that they had results here on GradCafe to the time I got mine (rejected). My friend at my University got hers on the Friday (also rejected) and I didn't get mine until the Monday! And she wasn't even one of the first to get notified, I want to say it started on like the Wednesday of that week. My goodness, I'm stressed just thinking about it.

There was also no rhyme or reason to who got results when - some were winners on Day 1, some were winners on day 6. It was agony lol.

Mine was in green! Got any theories?

Even though my sister told me a thousand times not to do this, I'm still going back and reading my research proposal. Don't try this at home kids!

It does depend on your division, so I don't know about the others, but for Humanities I don't think they have been announced.  An MSt History student claimed a couple of weeks ago to have received one, but that is very very unusual.  I would expect they would go out first week or two of April, but since everything has been pushed back this year, it could take longer.

Yes, I had the same experience, rejected on May 4th.  And it was through checking the extranet, my email of notification (to check the extranet) didn't arrive until May 6th. It was such a stressful week!  Hopefully it goes much quicker this year.

I just received the email confirming what the tweet said - end of April, via extranet.  Just receiving the email so unexpectedly almost gave me a heart attack though.  I have been able to put this out of my mind for six months, but no the anxious time starts...

I just got the results as well, and they gave me an award.
That was shocking enough, but the decision document also said my application was ranked 1/195. I didn't come here to gloat or make anyone that didn't receive an award feel bad though. I wanted to encourage anyone who is still eligible next year to apply again. Last year I applied and was pretty far back in the pack (150/200 or something) and so I polished up the same application and didn't expect a different result this year. After not receiving the award last year I was pretty distraught, but I just wanted to tell you guys that it'll work out - reapply to the Vanier, and even if it's not the Vanier keep going and your ship will come in!

    Better luck this year!

Speaking of fingers being crossed, I'm doing it. I'm getting friends, family to do it too. I'm grabbing strangers off the street and crossing their fingers. Got a good feeling about this group right here.

Let us all hope it is like last year, by email rather than by letter!  Of course, it’s still an excruciating wait because it seems there are only a couple of people sending out the notifications manually.  They came out slowly and in a random order, so many people heard through their school first.  I didn’t receive my rejection until May 4, but I think they started on the 1st.

oh, and my big research council funded purchase will be a trip home to Canada (should it be safe to do so)

Everything I've read says these two bad boys of the scholarship world are joined at the hip, just didn't want to harsh anyone's mellow by talking about CGS when nobody else had brought it up yet.
Hope I'm not setting the bar too high for luxury by suggesting I might also spend this sweet sweet cash on heat.

Last year I was trounced with a low 7 score and it hit me hard. I hit the grind and doubled the length of my CV in the intervening year, and this time I got a 16/20 and a CGS D. It feels like a narrow victory, but now I have a moment of peace that, dare I say it, feels earned.

Will let you know but not feeling too hopeful. Friday was a lot of Bombardier announcements. Cruel and unusual punishment if they did that on purpose. I'd have some feedback for them on the mental stress for students waiting.

Thank you!!! It’s a bummer but at the same time.... oh well ?. I’m sure I’ll be rejected many times in my career, gotta start somewhere LOL. And Ugh... fingers crossed for you!!!
I’m so sorry  my score was devastatingly low! As if I didn’t have enough imposter syndrome ?
