How were you tastefully able to include your ED experience in your statement? I have a similar background (it's the reason I got into psychology and I want to do research in the area) but I don't want it to come across as if I don't have an identity beyond "recovered anorexic" .___.

I don't know what that means, but I do know that whoever wrote the email sure sounds kind of rude. People can be so blunt, which is super nerve-wracking during a time like this!

I have been rejected from four of nine schools. All in a row. I was at a loss. I thought it was over.
Yesterday, I got an email saying a decision has been reached, and that a decision was posted. I logged in . . . "CONGRATULATIONS!" it said. I finally breathed air that felt fresh - for the first time in months, I felt relaxed.
I'm still waiting on four more schools, and my ideal situation is that I have to make a hard decision about where to go. But, at the very least, I'm in. Man, it feels good. I just had to share that with you all.

Hi, there! I actually spent a total of nine years as an undergraduate because I was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder, borderline personality disorder, and recently, OCD. I had to take leaves of absence.
I've just started my MA in English a month ago, and I'm really grateful that Ive been stable for months now. I'm working part-time, and I also signed up for the part-time program in our university. I was just wondering if there are any people who have struggles with depression, anxiety, what have you. How do you deal with it as a grad student? What's a typical week for you? How do you get the support you need?
I'd love to hear from you!

That is basically how I ended up responding to the email. I had to put the email in a different inbox category because I couldn't stand looking at it anymore. And, since I am looking at my mail 2234829048290483x  day, I do not want keep seeing the message.
Why is this process so horrible? I had no idea I was going to get this worked up over everything. The sad part is that I really thought this masters program would be a piece of cake getting into, especially with my stats. Sucks.

abzbabz00 reacted to starburst in When is it appropriate to reach out to the program post-interview?
Hi all ! I interviewed at a program on Feb 9th for UNC Chapel Hill - has anyone heard back post interview and if so, have you heard back from your POI?

In general, I was just wondering how long it is appropriate to wait to reach out to a POI to ask if they've made a decision, or even how to broach that discussion. Thanks :')

abzbabz00 got a reaction from gabgab in Emailing programs about admission status? - Masters
    Hi all!
I wanted to create a thread for more specifically masters level applicants. It is difficult to sort through all the PhD forums as that seems to be the majority of posters. I am currently waiting to hear back from three schools/programs that I have applied to and interviewed with. When is it acceptable to email them and ask about admission status? I interviewed with one program on February 23rd and they actually said we could reach out if we needed to know our status because of other schools needing an answer-- is this a trick? Is it really OK to reach out to ask? That specific program said they would have made their decision by the end of the day on the 23rd or by today (26th), but it takes awhile for the system I guess to actually send out the letters? What do you think? Is it ok to send emails? or do I just need to suck it up and be patient??
Program: Clinical Mental Health Counseling-- MA/MS
Schools applied to and interviewed with: U of Wyoming, U of Northern Colorado, U of Northern Iowa
