I am starting the mswwp regular track program in September and also have heard nothing! Definitely a bit unsettling.

    Hey,

I am in this program right now. There was a security breach that has affected everything (blackboard, email, wifi, UWinsite, Leddy Library, etc.), so I am not surprise that you have not been updated as staff and faculty are working to adjust current classes to accommodate.

Super impressive application! Thank you. I'm thinking to apply for Peel Jan 2022.

Can I ask, in the professional experience doc did you write paragraphs to describe your experience or just bullet points closer to like in a resume? Did you submit the workshops and certificates in that same document?

I wrote a small summary paragraph and then point formed my roles and responsibilities. At the bottom of the experience form there is a trainings/workshops section. It is pretty small so I created a document on word listing the certificates.
Since I used more pages than provided and had the word document, I printed everything and scanned it together into one document.

Good luck with your application! Feel free to ask me any questions along the way ?

I received an acceptance to Windsor's Regualr Track MSW For Working Professionals at 2:46pm today! I submitted my application April 8th so it was processed pretty quickly!

I have seen a Facebook group for the regular 2 year MSW program - has one been made for the MSWwp?

Oh wow that's a fast turnaround. Congratulations!!! Is this for a Jan 2022 start?

Also, if you're comfortable, do you mind sharing your average/experience?

    Thank you! ?

I applied for September 2021 in Windsor and January 2022 in Peel. I was accepted for September and my January application is still processing.

My average for my last two years is an 81.4, stats 92, research methods 88.

My application had 9245 hours of experience. I have worked as a Caseworker at Victim Services for almost 2 years and volunteered there as a Crisis Responder for 10 months.
I have also been working as a PSW for almost 4 years. Other relevant experience include Friendly Visitor through CAS and Volunteer as well as Volunteer Coordinator for Autism Ontario.
Not sure if these hours ended up counting but I did submit my volunteer position as an Assistant Dance Teacher, Western Foot Patrol, and a paid summer position from high school at a Natural Medicine Office doing research for a newsletter.

I'm not sure if this made a difference in my application but I did include 8 workshops and 16 certificates with my application. Most of them were just Certificates of Achievement.

I just got rejected from Western 2 year...

Any idea when we will be hearing from Laurier part time online?

Sorry to hear that - Good luck with Laurier!

Did you find out through email or did student center update? Mine still says applied/released to program

do you know if for westerns 2 year programs they usually send their acceptances the same day , or is it the same format that the 1 year programs get to know first then later the 2 years?

I just looked through last years forum and it looks like it happened around the same time! Few day difference

Does anyone know when we might be hearing from western re the 2-year msw program? Shouldn't it be around this time? ?

I was wondering the same thing, I sent an email to the admission advisor to find out when we should be hearing back. Will let you know!

I spoke to Julie the other day and she said that they are not done. They are aiming for mid March but she's hoping for sooner. Someone else told me that the social work department just did a hiring so that process probably took time away from reviewing applications.

    Good luck to you both!

Does anyone know when we are suppose to hear from Western for their 2 year programs?

That's what I'm waiting on too! Last year people started hearing about the 2 year program on February 27th and I think the year before was March 8th. I have yet to hear about anyone getting accepted to the advance program this year and that will happen first. Good luck! It'll be any day now!!

    Hello!

I've been accepted into the 2 year MSW program at U of T and Laurier respectively for the September 2018 start. The Laurier program is mostly online with in person practica, while the U of T MSW is a brick and mortar program.

Does anyone have any insight into how these programs compare to one another? Or advice on which to pursue?

    Thanks in advance!

Idk if you've already checked it out, but a lot of people from Laurier's online May cohort are in the thread I attached to this post. They'd have the best insight to what the Laurier program is like

Hi guys! I just got accepted into Lauriers online MSW program for sept. I’m soooo excited!!! I’m wishing everyone the best and also will be declining my offer at Windsor so hopefully it goes to someone awesome!

Congrats! Would you mid sharing what your average and hours were. I noticed you applied right out of your undergrad - I will be doing that next year.

  10. Hi there,

I have been stressing about applying to MSW programs for a while now, so I thought I would make a forum so we can stress together! Feel free to ask questions. Hopefully we can help each other out and make this process a lot easier.

Good luck to everyone applying for 2019!
